I like the progression from “fair” to “realistic”. Makes it pretty thorough.
@texasbeast2394 жыл бұрын
I agree totally. Back when the FBI decided to test 10mm against 9mm and .45ACP, they had already decided that all loads needed to have muzzle velocities of 950fps, as a scientific experimental control. This was easy with 9mm, a real stretch with .45, and at the time it was basically impossible with 10mm. This caliber was loaded to achieve 1200 and 1300fps back then. So the FBI had to pull 10mm bullets and download them artificially to make them "fair" against the other calibers. Even then, the 10mm still beat the others, so given that superior performance despite the handicap, the FBI officially chose 10mm as their issue ammo caliber for the next few years. But they never went past the "fair" test. They never got to testing and issuing "realistic" hot 10mm loads. So it was rather silly.

Some do see better than the majority of us. Gray eyes tend to not suffer from any night blindness at all their pupils dilate as fast as light changes. They convert very quickly but are not known for being precise. Brown / green pigment eyes are all over the chart. BLACK eyes are a strange one. They tend to be the best shots , fighter jet pilots and long range snipers. Night vision is crazy good for most with Black eyes. I’m brown green/ hazel. 20/20 nothing special. My late father had black ice eyes and could see better at night than I can in the daylight. Most important thing is eyes are muscles, exercises improve anyone’s vision, glasses make them lazy and week.

As always, outstanding work! However, one important consideration for lots of people is bear defense. If that’s important in the area you live in, the balance changes totally. You can get 300 grain “Bear Loads” for the .44 that are super powerful to break the massive bones of bears, and, as far as I know, nothing like it exists for the .357.

Maybe before another 46 go by you can learn enough from "educational" KZbin videos to do something useful with them rather than just "mess with" them. Just make sure to match the "educational" videos to the guns you've been "messing with" for over 46 years. You probably don''t have to get completely specific. Just narrow it down to the basic "type" of gun. For example, are you "messing with" paintball guns, airsoft guns, airguns, water guns, rubber band guns or just random "gun-like objects" you find around the house while Mom and Dad are at work? I gotta figure that since even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then, if they were REAL GUNS and just laying around for you to "mess with" you'd have gotten a visit from "Darwin" by now and long, long ago being the "mess with guns" type and all.

Actually I have never scene anyone who owns the higher calibers over the 44 magnum carry these for personal protection but if those owners wish to carry something more than the 357 they do carry the 44 magnum 🔫🔫 There is another side to carrying that is Not discuss often and that is the tactical reasons why not to carry or should I say use those higher calibers and also if you do happen to use those much higher calibers hopefully you and your lawyer can explain ( Why ) in court no matter how legal it is ⚖⚖⚖ Bragging rights are great when you win in court on these issues not just walking around with something such as the 500 or 460 😃😃

S&W's 460 seems like a fair contender for 'King'. 1) It accepts 45 Schofield, 45 Colt, 454 Casull, 460 magnum rounds. This offers a range of energies from below average 44 mag levels to nearly the 500 Magnum's max. 2) The 460 is heavier & has a compensator = less recoil for same energy levels
@junichiroyamashita4 жыл бұрын
@@gregparrott you assume someone would find and have a reason to use 45 Schofield. @andrewamann88556 жыл бұрын
Jim Silva .30-30 is shot from classier platforms, but 7.62x39 has a much higher fun potential. Ballistically, I'd probably give the edge to the spitzer-point round, out to a given range past 100 yards, but they seem to be suited to much different roles, mostly 2-legged varmints, versus 4-legged food. ETA: that said, I don't have firm, scientific numbers to back most of the conjecture in the latter half of that, and the former is largely personal taste.
@floater896 жыл бұрын

@NYstranger745 жыл бұрын
A 150 grain .30-30 is a much meaner cartridge within 100 yards than a 124 grain 7.62x39MM. The difference is approximately 400 ft lbs at the muzzle, and 300 ft lbs at 100 yards. A 170 grain .30-30 is a meaner animal still, not so much in ft lbs, but in deep penetration on big animals. 170 grain .30-30 has taken moose within 125 yards. No one is trying that with 7.62x39. I own both. The power difference on game is noticeable. That being said, the x39 is still a great round for deer and defense. The .30-30 make a great ranch or back woods companion.
