It’s a good razor, had one for decades. You have a replacement cap there. Originals like mine, had a cap with two inline ridges that fit into the bottom plate. I notice you are leaving rake marks in the snow, wrong angle!. I used mine this morning, feather blade, proraso green cream & a simpson trafalgar t3. You like the merkur futur, a fave of mine also. Always on 6. I see that most shavers cut themselves using it, on 2 or 3?. But most shavers on youtube have no clue anyway. Just watch each others vids & copy each other. I am 76 yrs old, taught to shave by my barber uncle back in 1960 with a straight. I do 4 passes, as most skilled shavers did back then. First pass down, second up, third diagonally up toward centre of face. Last pass, diagonally down. This takes care of every whisker, no matter which way it grows. Proraso Green is a classic. That's a wake-up shave, for sure. Mrs. H's floral displays are always a class act! My SOTD was Stirling British Leather Soap and Splash (their homage to English Leather) using the 6S with a Nacet blade. Post-shave was the usual alum, witch hazel, and balm. Thank you for a great mid-week, love the quality of the razor. Good soap as you said, thank you Mrs. H making the flowers great in your background. I've been on Treet blades all week. Mild razor wood handle, bought in Paris. Sorry about the winds, hope not much damage. Busy week, car part issues, repairs delay and purchase of Triumph Motorbike this weekend coming up. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm loving the humor. Makes the morning a good one. Interesting razor that I have never tried. SOTD Henson aggressive razor, Vertice One blade (same manufacturer as the Euromax in India), Wild Stone shaving cream, Yaqi silicone collapsible shave bowl, Brut after shave, and Nivea creme. @@kostasintzes9958 Won't be at work today. Why not? Because I'll be somewhere else. I agree, I love the neck brace jokes. I think the Yaqi collapsible silicone bowl is a fantastic travel lather bowl. It has a nice, solid ring at the top for added rigidity.

Thnx Paul, us peasants use cedar post in concrete. Replace 3- August when we had hurricane winds on the Great Plains w/hail golf ball size.

I've had quite a few vintage razors, and some of them are still around. Most of them shave well. I always sterilize old razors!) If an old razor is still in good condition, it's real Jackpot.) It's both a razor and a piece of history, a collection. Congratulations on your new purchase, it's a great investment. Pleasant emotions and a clean face are priceless. Hi Paul really good shave for you all worked well my own SOTD yesterday was the 6s shark platinum blade 1st use solar flare brush the red fine shaving bowl Atomic age bay rum soap and splash from PAA Thayers lavender witch Hazel finished of with Clarins moisture balm.have a great rest of the week and take care of yourself 🙂🙌👍🏻

Oh holy handle, that lightened the weight of my razor. For it was so head heavy, the whiskers went flying. Oh, what a thrill to watch the whiskers going down the drain. Lather ended up, on my nose and ear in vein. Oh, holy handle, thy grip that stirred such a scandal. For your shine is so sublime, I'll shave with your open comb, all the time.

Try soaking the wood to get it to expand and then put it back. It will shrink to size

I think these razors were made by the 7 o'clock razor company which gillette bought over in the 1930s which is why there is no gillette branding on the razor.
