@PaulHfilms another great masterclass in traditional wet shaving techniques and product information with detailed dining out information. As always, Mrs. H adds class to the scenery with her floral design game, GBY.

Hey Paul great shave 🪒. Your new gear is really cool. I follow your soap drying technique from the first time you shared it with us and it works great 👍. Today i will be going Antiquing with my wife. Always on the look for vintage shaving items 😅. My SOTFD. Razor: Rockwell 6C plate 3 with a Gillette 7 o'clock. Soap Aftershave & Splash: Stirling's Oro Valley. Brush: Aka Brushworx bronze and metallic black brush with a 26mm synthetic knot. Uts starting to get cool here so im getting my scuttle out. And then just proraso red balm to finish. Very nice shave. I love that Suzi soap. Have a great week Paul 👍

Absolutely loved your Sunday Shave today Paul , always inspiring to me. Today the shave of the day was my art of shaving German closed comb razor, feather razor blade, vintage spices soap and aftershave by master soap creations. All finished with pinaud clubman powder. Absolutely beautiful shave ! Dinner tonight is Italian Sunday Gravy with meatballs and sausage over rigatoni. In New Jersey that's mandatory on Sundays. 🙏❤️

I managed to find a similar Gillette travel kit, except mine is from the 1960s. Congratulations on the acquisition. 🎉

SOTD was a bronze Pearl, vintage Old Spice soap in the cup which was purchased at a Grant’s Department store for $2! Grant’s went out of business in 1976 so I was using soap that is 45+ years old, which lathers like crazy and is as slick as ice! Lavender WH, Caswell/Massey Jockey Club aftershave and topped off with Nivea Cool post shave balm. Classic Mrs. H arrangement! She has quite the talent!🤓

That razor looks basically like an open comb Tech. It'd be interesting to see a side-by-side comparison of the two in action. I don't usually have these planned out in advance, but since I do for once: SOTD is MSC Vintage Faberge lathered with a Shavemac D01 silvertip brush, Razorock Game Changer. 84, and a 3rd use Dorco Prime blade. MOTD is baked penne with bolognese sauce and big chunks of mild Italian sausage. Cheers!

A very nice vintage Gillette shaving set indeed! What a bargain for £18. You had a very nice shave with the Gillette 7 O'clock razor. It's amazing how good those old shaving sticks perform. IMHO the main advantage of modern shaving soaps is the number of homage scents they create. And I'd be remiss not to compliment Mrs. H's elegant floral display. Enjoy your Sunday lunch outing with the boss. Until Wednesday...cheers!

The flat bottom (fb) and raised flat bottom (rfb) are the most sought after in the "new" oc series. The head is solid brass plated with silver or nickel. I am curious though if the included palmolive soap is actually soap, or if they already started including detergents back then.

I have a gillette new with the same off centre pins on the head cap. The head is just branded gillette made in England so mine must be a new model, after gillette took over and maybe using the old parts.

You ought to try that travel soap, see how it stands up to modern soaps. Looks a lovely razor.

Looks like you've got salt and pepper shakers with the set.😀Actually I'm sure the holes are designed to allow the soap and brush to dry more quickly. Interesting about the pegs on the razor head being offset. I don't see how they could hold a standard blade in properly but I guess they did.

IIRC, 7 O'Clock was a separate brand from Gillette, but their razors were made in the same factories that made Gillette razors in England. I understand that Gillette acquired the 7 O'Clock razor blade brand at some point. Nice kit there. Did you get the bakelite blade banks with the case?
