Great shave. I also have a Pearl Flexi Ver 2 and have never had any blade alignment issues and really enjoy it. Two of my buddies just bought ver 5’s and absolutely love them.

Hi Paul! First, I’m a huge PAA fan. Their whole line of products, from brushes, razors, soaps, splashes, accessories, etc. is just outstanding IMHO. Second, I also have the version 2 of the Flexi and love it! Really hard to beat for the buck. The Rex Ambassador is my favorite razor, and, for me, it does nudge out the Flexi by a bit, but not by much! I originally got the Flexi just to use as a travel razor and was so surprised at the quality and performance. Had I bought the Flexi first, I might never have bought the Rex. Cheers!

I have a V5 Flexi. I was close to sending it back as it made a sound like a baby's rattle when shaving and rinsing. I didn't send it back as the shave is so good. I fixed the rattle to a large extent by putting pressure on the head and taking it just past level 1. So not sure all problems solved for every razor. The supplier said Pearl state there is a little rattle by design but not so sure about that. Excellent shaver though. My favourite!

Awesome shave, Paul, as always. Love the Pearl Flexi, a blue collar man's Rex Ambassador! Also, I've got the vintage Old Spice "fresh", about %25 of it and absolutely LOVE the scent!! JUst ordered the "Fresco" set and cologne earlier this week and can't wait to try it.

I have the latest version of the Pearl Flexi Adjustable DE Razor. It is a fantastic razor for me and the customer service communication was fantastic. If I could add a wish it would be for a "slicker" type coating on the external head. Fit and finish is very good. Great function and adjustability and no overhang. If they ever add a top opening version, I would quickly add that. Value is outstanding for all the items you get in the package.

Soap/splash scent sounds wonderful and performance no problem, Doug and Fran rock. SOTD: PAA Cube, Wilkinson Sword "Blue" shave stick, PAA synth brush, Timeless SS razor w/Polsilver blade, alum, Thayers witch hazel, Floid "Black" splash and AV 5 in 1 balm to finish..Spectacular. Great shave. My SOTD will be of the KCG razor with a Personna blade on its 3rd use, Zingari Man The Gatherer soap sample, Omega 10066 brush, AV Musk AS and the Afta AS Conditioner. Recently manufactured Voskhod blades don’t have “teflon coated” at the black bottom anymore because the name “teflon” is trademarked by the DuPont company. Just letting everyone know. My pack of Voskhods still have the name teflon on them, but I gotta preserve the packaging for nostalgia.

Greetings Paul. Like the Amber Aerolight handle also. SOTD was the Futur on 3,2,and 1. Caties Bubbles Royal Garden. Astra green from a sample pack. Don't care for them. Alum which stung a bit. Witch hazel spiked with frost drops. Like you I don't care for the smell of it on it's own. Good old Skin Bracer. Take care.

Good evening Paul! Thank you Mrs. H for the Sunflowers...very nice indeed! To be honest, if I bought all of those PAA scents I want, in both soap and aftershave, I would have to re-mortgage the house. I am saving my purchases to those I can't live without. The CK-6 base is luxurious...best in class. SOTD: 1964 Schick Krona razor loaded with a 1969 Wilkinson Sword Super Sword Edge blade (2nd use). TOBS Coconut shaving cream bowl lathered with a That Darn Rob 26 mm BOSS synthetic brush. Finished with Thayer's Coconut Water skin toner. BBS result and smelling of delicious coconut. I love it. Overdo the pick-ups? Never! Yes, yes, yes...correct; you can NOT get closer than blood. I must always have the very closest shaves as there is pink lather and water each and every time. Great mind think alike, eh? Thanks for sharing pull. Please take care.

Thanks for the Sunflowers, it is middle of winter where I live and dull sky with rain. My optimal handle length I believe around 90mm, but I don't mind using longer or shorter handles. However, because of arm issues I do like razors a bit on the light side, less than 100gm and preferable less even down to AL razors.

Really wish Douglas Smythe would offer an EDP and aftershave based on the Palmolive stick scent (even with a CK-6 version soap for that matter). For me, that scent is clean and masculine yet subtle - just a classic and unique scent which is yet to be offered in any modern day aftershave or cologne. Dunno why really, as it's always been one of my favorite scents.

Morning Sir.. Wet shaving is about " something 4 everyone ".. So.. IMO short handles r 4 better maneuverability, long handles 4 better leverage.. & BTW big screens or no big screens tnxxx 4 the videos.. Keep shooting 👍

What a wonderful floral display by the Mrs! Nice choices for the shave there Paul. I’m probably going to place an order for that soap myself. My SOTD will be the Gillette Slim Adjustable with a Feather blade, Omega Boar brush, PAA Cube 2.0, SV Desert Vetiver soap and aftershave, with some L’Oréal Men Expert Birch Sap Balm to finish the shave. Meal of the day will be some Baked Lasagna with some fresh baked garlic bread, Caesar salad, and some white wine. Have a wonderful day and stay safe!!!!

I haven't smelled any of the original old spice scents. Or even the new. How close is cold spices to the original? What does old spice smell like? I love fresco though.

The original Old Spice was woody, musky and spicy, very nice, the Cold Spices is the nearest I have used to that original scent, only difference is the Cold Spices has a bit of menthol in it.

Some soaps I know lather up better in a bowl, some in the puck, but it’s a case of trying both ways and see what works best for you. Your type of water can make a difference sometimes too.
