Hi Paul. I went to the show on Saturday and thought Fanatics Fest was a show worth going to especially if you are somewhat close to NYC. That being said, I think that you really can't compare Fanatics Fest and The National easily. Two very different animals, but both are very important for the industry for different reasons. 75% of the show was not totally relevant to hardcore collectors, but it was great to see so many families enjoying the "experiences" provided. I spoke to a number of dealers who said they were happy with their results through Saturday. I was able to purchase cards at good prices and saw a number of dealers that I deal with on a regular basis. I also noticed families buying low end cards for their kids, which might bode well for getting more people into collecting. I will say the venue was great! The social media marketing and local TV coverage was also great which is a positive for the industry as a whole.
