There is absolutely no reason why Canelo should be fighting anyone besides Benavides. Even many great former Mexican champions of the past have said this. Benavides should not have to wait any longer. If Canelo wants to go up to Cruiserweight then fine, but he should lose one or several of his belts and then Benavides should be able to fight someone else for those vacant belts. But it is not fair for Canelo to hold the 168lb belts hostage while he seeks to fulfill his personal pursuits.
