it was really refreshing to hear you reflect on consent when it comes to portrait photography of women. i think consent, generally, is important to hold in mind - and many photographers don’t gaf.

Really refreshing to see someone taking their time and communicating with their subjects while still on the streets ... to be clear i'm on the other side of the spectrum, just happily snapping away all day, but it's nice to know there are other photographers taking a totally different approach :)

Paulie: I have watched so many of your videos and LOVE this series it's so inspirational to see the different styles and different approaches. I love both posed and candid street shots but after seeing this I want to do more posed shots. Naeem's pictures are fantastic.

Gorgeous work Naeem, love it. I've shot for decades with my old Bronica, that mirror slap always blows me away. I love candid street work, but It's liberating at times to ask random folk for a shot, I find it far far easier to ask folk when I'm using an old camera, of late I'm using old folders, I rarely get turned down as folk are interested in the camera etc, I always offer to flick them their pic. Great video fella loving this series.

This is very charming , I love it - a new form of street photography??? Consensual street photography- Naeem is clever, artistic and he makes work that celebrates his subjects. I don’t often ask to take someone’s photo during a day’s street shoot, maybe twice or thrice per trip, but when I do I open up with what attracted me to them….. catchy clothing, beautiful makeup, nifty dog, after which, according to their reaction, I ask if it would be all right if I take a photo of them. After accepting an unsolicited harmless compliment from a stranger, I’m rarely turned down. Being a 73 year old duffer doesn’t hurt, as, along with my open, friendly, casual manner, I don’t appear to be a threat 🙂

Interesting shooting style, enjoyed this. Naeem has such an easy, friendly personality so street portraits are perfect. I love his way of giving directions, sounds like he knows what he's doing so I'm not surprised people do whatever he asks. These strangers trust him.

Usually the white background is there when Paulie is showcasing a photo, but I think he edited this one wrong 😆 hence the white background for no reason…

Those rings made a good picture though I felt Naeem should have overexposed the frame by a stop or 2 because of the backlight
