Not sure I'd agree this was a fun time. He had an awful meeting with George while recording this and then geared up to serve the others with writs and then went into the court case, suing the other 3 to break up the partnership and be saddled with the blame for killing the band. Must have been traumatizing for both of them. I always think this album is tribute to his incredible resilience.

Coming from Campbeltown, I just love seeing my favourite Beatle and the love of his life enjoying peace and happiness in the landscape I know so well. Small point for the McCartney geeks... Wikipedia says this video and Heart of the Country were filmed on January 2nd 1971 while they were home for Christmas between Ram sessions. Getting the descending sun directly over the Southern coast of Islay an hour or so before sunset suggests it was filmed in the summer however.

@@hv1225 Actually, Linda was a more-experienced rider. Paul didn't do badly. Both were holding onto the reins only....neither grasped the saddle horn. Plus, the film was slowed down; they were both riding at a nice clip.

There has to be a certain tension in the leash and you also dont flail your arm around, doing this keeps you in charge and avoids the horse freaking out by accident. Google "correct western position" for comparison.

I still play my original album and know it by heart. 1971 Summer is my favorite life. I've had and continue to have a horrible life. I'm 64 as of May 14. No birthday wish from anyone. No family. Uncaring husband. But Uncle Albert comes on and I'm 15 again in the arms of Danny Cruz the love of my life. I'm young, beautiful and happy. Danny died from drugs. As the writer Fannie Flagg wrote, "Sometimes I just can't wait to get to Heaven."
