If the universe is big enough, possibly infinite, there’s probably a 100% chance that somewhere out there is an alien that looks and sounds exactly like Worf from Star Trek, TNG that was really inspiring, thank you

To your last remark; what if our bodies are the (as the most sophisticated device on this planet) the most capable device to be finely tuned to receive complicated “unearthly” signals? What if we can adjust our bodies to receive say “communication” from other life forms? Makes sense to me, if anything on Earth can, it should be our bodies.

Since life needs energy and a way to pass on information, I’m wondering what kind of options have been thought of that are alternatives to dna and also the powerhouse of the cell, the mitochondria. If complex life on earth needs the mitochondria for energy and the mitochondria was captured, how likely is something similar to have occurred elsewhere? These are options that could be explored. I don’t know if they have been already.

We currently lack any foundation for estimating the number of Earth-like planets, as we have not discovered another celestial body comparable to our own. Therefore, it is premature to speculate about the existence of 5 billion Earth-like planets in our galaxy until we make such a discovery.

The problem with conceiving the beginnings of life is that 99.999999+% formed or whatever word you use for coming into existence way before a brain was formed even in the smallest or simplest of form. So trying to piece together the chaos that created the things that make up life as biological know it would disappoint be far fetching or so simple we’d overthink it and not believe it. I stick to what doesn’t effect my flesh as much as putting it into a scenario where flesh didn’t exist nor is made to.

That ant "what-if thought experiment" is so very interesting! Lets make it a bit more Dystopian for those poor ants: since ants/termites are hive-species, each generation coming and following one/a queen. What if those ants also had scientists? What mundane and natural explanations could those ant-scientists come up with regarding such ('blocking of paths') human foot blocking their path or a human shadow engulfing their colony ('no-night-shadows') several times each ant-generation? Would the accepted view on those occurrences all be mundanely natural and on the level of what's known (and factually also correct) to be possible by their current grasp of the details of (theoretical) "ant-physics" in their "ant-world"? Now what-if: that colony also has some outlier-ant-scientist, not fully following the "hive" accepted idea's and they have some "beyond-the-anthill-ish" theoretical idea's that WOULD NOT violate their known (theoretical) "ant-physics". But the explanation of "what could be the 'blocking of paths" or the 'no-night-shadows' " is still beyond accepted by the ant-queen and majority ant-scientist because it is also prone to mundane explanations. Thus those outlier-ant-scientist never get taken very serious by each generation queen and her ant-scientist, perhaps even ridiculed ant-generation after generation for their bizar theories of the 'blocking of paths" or the 'no-night-shadows'. And thus they never can get into proper positions, or are given, where they can proof or disprove their own theories through the ant-scientific-rigors and thus their theories of the 'blocking of paths" or the 'no-night-shadows' will always remain on the fringes of ant-society. Then their fringe theories become ant-myths and those myths become ant-legends, until they start to fade with the hive, many ant-generations from now. When it crumbles as a human excavator digs the earth in search of that gold bearing pay layer, several feet beneath that once flourishing ant-hill!

So, we live in 3 dimensions. I've many times wondered what theoretical life that lives in 4 or 5, or even more dimensions might be like. Is it even possible? No way to know for sure yet. But someday, we might figure it out. I definitely think there IS life of some sort out there somewhere; the universe is too big for this to be a one off. We simply aren't THAT special.
@dogmd7
@dogmd7 6 ай бұрын
We may very well be. Or not at all. It's a 50-50 chance if we are that special or not. Also we live in 4 dimensions (length, width, height, time). Any possible other dimensions are purely theories right now.

They look like us, why would they look any different if they breathe air. And another clue is the unproven fact that life has existed in this solar system at least two, to multiple times and yet here we are unchanged. Well here you all are basically unchanged. Living together on an individual planet now after most of you living on just a single other planet. Some possibly multiple planets within this solar system but that would be very few of you, I’m guessing. And human life was brought about the same way as usual with the water evaporating on the planet that died or you all destroyed and gathering the seas oceans rivers and streams into a giant globule of water that held both seeds fish eggs, plants and animals of the smallest nature through a nonatmospheric evaporation which then possibly traveled towards the sun until colliding with multiple other planets and some water continuing on and turning into reoccurring comets. So human life probably just follows its own water source that carries the seeds and creators of life with it. The seeds grow the fish eggs hatch possibly on the long time between the ocean evaporating and then recombining as a globule in space and the fish breed and die without eating but leaving carcasses floating in the oceanic globule and having no plant life eat each others carcasses for sustenance even if they were herbivorous fish? But it’s also fair to say that plant life grew within the globulated ocean possibly creating oxygen 🤷‍♀️ So the water crashes into multiple planets and life sprouts and fish evolve or basically realize and create more of life through realization until humans.

What aliens you found aliens? Everything in the universe comes from the stars which are bound to this universe so anything that originates from this universe is native to this universe and any other beings in this universe are a part of this universe just like us we would all be elementary related. To be alien they would need to originate in a different universe or dimension. Earth is just one room in a bigger structure so calling anything from a different room alien is nonsensical.
