For some reason, the promote only is Great out. I'm not allowed to uncheck it. I have the full premium X. I'm not sure why it's doing this. I'm following all the steps. Any suggestions?

You don't need premium. You need a full active ads account. Don't need to use it just fill out the info for ads and it shows up. I have an account with no premium and this works.

I have scheduled my campaign and it does not let me edit the destination because of it, does that mean I always have to remember to set this thing when I am creating the campaign, by goign one jump back in the process to get to this view? Or can I edit it later when the campaign is running? Seems like a nuisance to always remember to go back, if you ever want the image clickable

Just the video I was looking for, and the only one I could find that tackles this issue, HOWEVER, I don't have the same X interface, and so can't do the moves to make an image clickable. I have Premium Basic, is that that the problem?

I think you have to setup an ads account fully to do it. Have you done that?
