Paulo Prietto is one of the bigger names in skimboarding for many reasons, not the least of which is his sick skimboarding skills! Watch this video for proof!

I have so much respect for skimming then I used to. When I saw skimming for the first time I was like ya thats a decent size wave. 3 years later HOly crap that was huge!!! Paulo is probably the best of the few skimmerz that go out for those huge swell

Im skimboarding in seaside park NJ using the exile recruiter board and it is sick! I fell in love with the board when it was high tide and when it was low tide to do the pop shove it's on the huge sandbar! But school is coming soon the i will have to wait another year :(

This video, as all the others, is really inspiring. I just wish you guys had some clips from smaller beaches. I live in fort walton beach Florida. The gulf coast hardly gets anything. we through down little floaters and if it has enough pop to give you a big spin out, your lucky. Id love to see exile riders tearin up some small stuff.

this isnt Paulo but I am happy to help you out. Shape wise you would probably be looking at a ML Hybrid or Pro shape. Any exile board is gonna be way better than the wedge and you will get a good amount of carry out of it. The Hybrid shape is probably most similar to what you are used to so I would recommend that. We have different material options available ranging in cost from 299 to 449 for carbon fiber. Check us out on our website!

Hey Paulo I love skim boarding but I have been using the same board for many years. I have been using a Small-Medium wedge from Zap and I love it to pieces but that board is really meant for someone weighing 120lbs top which was fine for a couple of years and in my younger days. Now that I am 19 and 170lbs and looking to get a new board, what would you recommend? Running has never been a problem it is reaching the waves farther out and being able to ride them back in. You dont need a carbon board to ride waves but getting at least a fiberglass one would help a lot. It is possible to ride waves on a wood board but it is way easier on a foam core board. Generally the better board you buy the easier they are to ride (better performance). The Recruit would be a huge step up and you would notice an immediate improvement.

thick will have a little more float but less manueverability/response. Thin will conversely have more response but a little less float...
