Guys - also check out Pepeland's channel. Dani has been showing upcoming improvements to Grease Pencil as they get developed. Worth keeping an eye on kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX22p3mbrLxjlaM

nice video! Vertex colors seem like a good way to sketch out an idea, but then when you start animating using materials might be better for their editability

wonderfully clear, thanks!

Aside from the more manageable palet, whats the difference ? I mean we can close the gaps with the other method as well by clicking ctrl click with the bucket tool on

In an earlier Quick Tip grease pencil video, you showed how to use masking. Now that 2.83 has redone masking, could you revisit that for the purpose of shadows and highlighting?

There's some masking in this month's quick tip on converting text to grease pencil, which is relevant. Also in next month's upcoming tutorial on coloring and shading, I'm gonna get right into it! Watch this space.

Nice video :) do you know the shortcut for color picker in vertex color ? I can't find him, so frustrating.
@PCaggegi4 жыл бұрын
I have to admit I've not learned the shortcuts for grease pencil. Dani Lari's videos cover some, and you can always assign your own in preferences.

@@PCaggegi After investigation, In this particular case you can't :/

Thank you very much. was wondering how exactly to use this thing. very helpful! P.S. Where'd you get that Voltron?!!!
@PCaggegi4 жыл бұрын
Voltron is available anywhere lego is sold now. My wife ordered it when it was just a Lego Ideas release a couple years ago. I LOVE IT

Are you going to do a tutorial on the new vertex color tint? I've been messing around with it trying to see if I can give my shadows an airbrushed edge to no avail
@PCaggegi4 жыл бұрын
I'm also trying to get it to work easily. That, and sculpting sound great, but I tend to fall back on simpler methods and workarounds. Hoping to get better at it soon and get some demos up when I master it.

Can you help me prlease? :( I made a 2d animation and now I wanted to color it. I have version 2.81 and there is no vertex color. I downloaded version 2.9 and did a test on a new file and the vertex color works great. I opened my 2d animation with the new version of blender 2.9 and the vertex color does not work (I switch from "paint mode material" to "paint mode vertex color" but it continues to color with the color of my material, despite me on vertex color I change the color ... and obviously the "tint" option doesn't work either). Yet with a new file it worked! Then I tried to open a new file and then hang my 2d animation and this way the vertex color works. Can anyone tell me why? Why if I open the old file with the new version of blender the vertex color doesn't work while if I open a new empty file (always of the new version of blender) and then I hang the objects made with the old version then it works?

Hi . You can't use vertex paint on a grease pencil object created in an older version pre-feature. I tried too. You'll have to use it on your next scene.

Do you use 2.92 beta

The betas are coming out so quickly! Keeping up with the official releases is hard enough lol. I do try them when I have the time but I do the tutorials in official releases so everyone can follow
