wanted to add by using dots instead on line . with a textured brush ( can be as simple as a blured circle ) you can avoid the weird artifacts caused by the line strokes sadly this seems like the best way we can get soft shading now :/ iv been trying to do that using compositor but it just gets exponentially worse the more layers you have

I'd like to know more about the difference between vertex colors and materials. You made a base "material" not a vertex right?
@TeamMiracles3 жыл бұрын
yes there is a base material for me to create a "canvas" of vertexes (if that makes sense). Basically I just scribbled in a layer with as many strokes as possible so that there will be many vertexes to influence with the vertex color tool. vertex color only changes the color of existing vertexes with varying intensity, so having many vertexes near each other allows you to create the gradients and such. It's also why the process is sort of broken when you try to use vertex color on "fill" colors (i think at least :p)

Thank u so much you deserve a sub good job 👍🏾 One Question how do u get the base layer
@TeamMiracles3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support! Do you mean the base of the drawing or the background? For the drawing I colored it in like you would normally color with a pencil. small strokes. For the background you can just make a new layer below and fill in a square. Or change the world color, but that's bit messy if you want to edit it.

Is like equivalent to alpha lock in 2D drawing programs?
@TeamMiracles3 жыл бұрын
Yes! somewhat. But it doesn't work like just turning alpha lock on for a layer. It's a whole alternative coloring mode to Materials.

I'm confused. so we keep a stroke layer and another layer for the tint brush? where is the tint brush? is it on the bar on the left?

@TeamMiracles3 жыл бұрын
In vertex color you can just paint over any stroke to another color using the vertex color pallette as in the video! Let us know where this isn't working for you
@ratishthad77583 жыл бұрын
@@TeamMiracles but when I select fill and make a circle using vertex colour the colour of fill and the stroke is same. I use vertex colour so as to avoid making a new material everytime 😅 . So isn't there anyway to change the colour of stroke and fill differently

@Yeoldyperson3 жыл бұрын
I must be doing something wrong... I was testing out what you showed by making a circle and filling it in by hand like you do at 1:10, but when I go to tint, it tints the individual strokes, so you can see odd lines going through the circle from where I moved the draw tool when filling in the circle. Hope that makes sense. Here's a photo of what I mean: i.imgur.com/sSlW922.png Edit: I'm noticing you actually have the same thing on your drawing on the face, but it's less obvious compared to what is in the photo I linked. And the hair is really well done, there's no noticeable stroke edges in there... How come that's smoother than the face fill?
@TeamMiracles3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Yes we ran into the same issue too, it has to do with how many vertices there are to tint on your base (as far as I can tell!). I noticed you used a thicker brush- the thickness doesn't increase the amount of vertices per line, so making a thinner brush and filling it with more fine lines will give you more vertices to work with!
@Yeoldyperson3 жыл бұрын
@@TeamMiracles Thank you still replying so many months on after uploading, I will try that.
