It’s actually not that far off, if you imagine a random video being sent to the detective in charge of the case. We don’t know where it came from, we don’t know if it shows events that actually happened, we don’t know who’s in the video. Without outside verification, a video’s just a film that could easily be the same place on a different day, a staged event (as in your example), or a different location entirely. My point is that your spit take was justified even if we take Eric’s example at face value.

Where/ who do you put your faith in seems like a broad question. I had bilateral detached retina almost a year ago and I put my faith and trust in my opthalmologist. If my car is not working I put my faith and trust in my mechanic. If I need to know what is right or wrong I put my faith trust into me.

"The verb form 'trusting'" that's not a verb, that's a noun, specifically a gerund.

6:48 I once had a chair break under me as I sat on it. And I'm not alone. Others have had the same thing happen. Is that an argument against faith?

Trust means putting yourself in a position where somebody, or something, can do you harm. You trust the babysitter not to drink your booze, throw a wild party, and end up burning your house down. Your trust may be misplaced...

It's amazing when kids watch their Dad bring in big bucks in the name of religion that they do the same. I'm fortunate to have had a bricklayer for a Dad.

10:05 FYI there are tools for people who need help properly pressing keyboard keys. These tools are called hammers. So yes it's entirely possible to type an essay using a hammer. Well actually two hammers, one for each hand. And typewriters used "hammers" to create the impression of the letters on the paper.

My trust in experts without further research is inversely proportional how much the subject effects my life.

Now someone must write a 3000 word essay with a hammer. Surely the internet can manifest this.

So faith equals trust or is faith separate from trust when used in situations that don't require trust?

I always use the word "blind" before faith to avoid this whole semantic argument.
