At one point, phatso had one of the nicest watch collections out there. It was unique, versatile and a well thought out collection. It was a fine example of a heterogeneous collection. With a blunder of significantly epic bad decisions he managed to trade and sell off most of it. Today he is left with a homogeneous group of Patek watches that all look the same. Way to go Phatso.

Same here! So bad ass! I have a Cartier Tank Louis with a blue Cartier alligator strap and once I had it serviced, the blue sword hands with that sapphire cabachon and that strap just look soooo SICK. And it remonds me of this look -- which is exactly what I want in a Calatrava 37-38 mm. All day. Its even better than my Cartier because this strap is deep navy and the Cartier brand strap is more of a dark blue than a blue-black.

Not to mention that the price of the 5196j from 1st October 2020 has been equalised with the white gold and rose gold, so with the price rise also taking effect, the 5196j has shot up about 20%..😱

Lange Saxonia is better with a display back. The older movement in 5196 is too small so they didn't want to add the display caseback. Lange 1815 is my next grail. This one looks like a country club watch.

Nice video and watch, Arch. Yes, the 215ps is a fantastic movement. BUT a larger size movement like their old 12-400 would fit even better and it's a full bridge where the 215ps has the escape and fourth? wheel stuck on one bridge. Agree, though, would rather have 5196 than the VC, the AL&S 1815 or AP . Enjoy, Arch.

I hate the 5196. Completely out of proportions, mini movement, 21mm strap on a dresswatch... PP made it to milk the neo vintage fools and fatso went for it. LOL.

Indeed 21mm movement design for 33mm fitted for 37mm ; there is an obvious short cut in production to fool the novice.
