Sobotni poranek i co widzę... Technologia, która inspiruje 🚚🛠️°°°🖥️👀🤩 Doskonała renowacja zamiatarki ulicznej Forda. Kompleksowa nowa produkcja części szklanych; ale przede wszystkim precyzyjne prace inżynieryjne i montaż silnika... WOW 🤩 (Jak mówiłem: technologia, która inspiruje 😉) Najważniejsza atrakcja? WSZYSTKO! Pozdrowienia ze słonecznego końca Łaby, czyli latarni morskiej ☀️ 🌊🏄♂️🏖️ 👍🏼🇵🇱😎🍻🤠🇩🇪👍🏼 Saturday morning and what do I see... Technology that inspires 🚚🛠️°°°🖥️👀🤩 Excellent resto of the Ford street sweeper. The complex new production of the glass parts; but above all the precision engineering work and the engine installation... WOW 🤩 (As I said: technology that inspires 😉) A highlight? EVERYTHING! I particularly like the decals. (Very realistic 🤩👍🏼) Paul, I'm thrilled; Clearly both thumbs up for that 👍🏼 👍🏼 Thanks so much for sharing 🙏🏼and keep it up, mate 😉 Have a nice weekend to you and your family and stay safe and sound. Greetings from the sunny lighthouse end of the Elbe river.

I had that sweeper. My Mum and Dad bought me it when I was in hospital. It came in a blister pack and I was very disappointed because I didn’t want a sweeper. Funny what memories it brought back. It was a metallic green tank on the back. I ended up driving one in real life😂

What a nice idea to motorize this model, except for the charging function, Dinky could have implemented this mechanism themselves, since - at this time - they were eagerly experimenting with all sorts of functions and mechanisms to give their models the highest possible play value. Of course, this was also very costly, not just in design, but also in production costs and added assembly time, so although the downfall of Dinky and the others may have happened anyway, the crazy competitive race for features certainly contributed to the spiraling costs. This is one of the models that got dumbed down during its production time, as on late models, the doors no longer open. I noticed on your model, pre-restoration, the doors seemed to be very loose and sagging, a good indication of wear, and that's probably also the reason behind the simplifications made by Dinky: either the dies themselves got worn out, or it became well-known, that the doors would wear after a while. Of course, the reason could also simply have been to cut costs and/or save assembly time, as you demonstrated while reassembling the model, the doors were a bit tricky to install. I can imagine, that with all the brushes, springs and cogs, this model was quite a nuisance for the factory workers to assemble.
@peterstudley18042 ай бұрын
Yes you are right the doors were moulded shut towards the end of production , something else to note :- in around 1977 the round headlights were changed to square at the same time the ford custom cab changed to square headlights on the real model , the dinky first hit the toy shops in 1970 and had a H reg on the number plates , it acquired jewed headlights in 1973 for a short period, and lasted in production until Binns rd factory closed in 1979.

Wow that's incredible, looks so much better in all over orange, the Krakov decals are great, the chassis in silver looks very realistic too , but its missing a little grey pipe that should sit in the gap on the tank above the rear wheel, this pipe could be removed and push fitted to the plastic vacuum pipe that swung out from the top of the tank , this would make the model a gully sucker , but it looks and goes well. Thank you.

I used to have one of these. The extension house from the vacuum is missing, I was wondering if you are going to replace that.
@Simon-xc5oy2 ай бұрын
Yes it is missing. I had one of these, in fact its still in a box in my loft. I was attracted to it as a child because it was green, my favourite colour! It was one of the first large toy trucks my parents ever bought for me, and the build quality was astonishing on the Dinky toys. Look at it now, it would be either all plastic, or have a plastic base or cab etc...and the whole thing including the complex under part is all metal! The doors of the cab are metal! Here in England we used to have a manufacturing base that built toys like this by the thousand....so sad its all gone. The vacuum tube extension clipped on to the side of the truck at the back, you can see the metal ridges and slot, where it went in this video. I will never forget the time I first saw a council sweeper like this doing its job outside my home when I was small. They even stopped and got the drain cleaner off the back and swung it out and vacuumed out the drain across from me, and I remember thinking that now I knew what the pipe was for on the back of my toy....
@PaulRestorer2 ай бұрын
Thank you very much
@Simon-xc5oy2 ай бұрын
@@PaulRestorer You are welcome...all you need to do is get a small rubber pipe that fits on the end of the big black vac tube. Its supposed to go from that down to the floor on the toy when you swing out the arm. It then clips into the ridge at the back end of the wagon on the side. You can then pretend you are a workman and take it off the side and attach it to the toy to clean out leaves in blocked drains from the imaginary streets you are sweeping...
