Corgi restoration Toyota 2000 GT No. 336. James Bond 007. Two from 1967. Die-cast model.

Meetoy, after the spectacular success of its Aston Martin DB 5 model from the 007 series, launched the Toyota 2000 GT from another episode titled "You only live twice" with Sean Connery in 1967. In the video, you can turn on the subtitles in your language with commentary to the activity. The car was full of technical novelties. There were four missiles in the trunk that fired at the right moment. The car also had two figures, of course James Bond and the Japanese woman who drove the car. My model did not have a trunk. Therefore, to implement this project, I managed to get a second Toyota 2000 GT as a spare part, which lacked other parts than mine. I tried to fit these parts, copy them and create two complete models. I cast the missing polyurethane resin trunk. Nmozna was mounted in the trunk, made of resin, mobile rocket launcher. I made a dummy to save this model. I made tires from polyurethane in molding. I made glass panes by thermoforming from PET material and I made a box with a display according to the original one, which I had scanned from a friend. The only drop-top Toyoya 2000GT were made by Toyota for the movie You Only Live Twice. All the others were coupes with beautiful fastback roofs. These are absolutely beautiful, Paul -- you took 1 car worth of broken or missing parts and made 2 complete and lovely models.. Stunning work!

この車を再生してくれて、とても嬉しく思います。 私は幼い頃にTOYOTAの本社工場に、学校の課外授業で見学に行き、その時TOYOTA博物館にも立ち寄り、展示してあったこの車を見た事を、今でも鮮明に記憶しています。 しかし、残念な事に今では完全にオリジナルの、トヨタ2000GTは失くなりました。 何故なら、最後の1台の博物館に展示してあった車は、エンジンを電気自動車のモーターに変えられて、電気自動車になってしまったからです。 今、世界中に現存する物は、コピーした物ばかりです。 とても残念ですが、仕方ありません。 良い思い出をありがとう。

The reason that the car was an open-top roadster - a version not actually manufactured by Toyota at the time - was because Sean Connery could physically not fit into the hardtop, being too tall. Toyota simply removed the roof, and made a very sexy car indeed.
