It's Duluth, most of those folks haven't taken their long johns out of storage yet.

Which canal on the Great Lakes is this. Is it part of the Welland Canal? I know the Locks at the Sault are under a fixed bridge, the only canal I know that has lift bridges is the Welland.
@PaulScinocca6 жыл бұрын
Bill Campbell it is the Duluth entry, usually referred to as the canal

Just wondering why these great lakers don’t ever have bridge wings so they can see down both sides of the ship when ship handling in port?
@PaulScinocca4 жыл бұрын
Some of them do, just not the large wings you see on the container ships, even on the old lakers like the Clarke, they have controls on the outside of the wheelhouse.
@PillSharks4 жыл бұрын
Paul Scinocca ok, cheers for that, the ships I work around all have bridge wings going the full beams of the ship so the pilot or crew can look along the side.

That horn sounds exactly like a fright train.

The bridge horn is a freight train horn.....

Not a recent type of train horn.

BAJATWIN it was thin, about .25 to .5"

The ships can get through feet of ice though.
@Rheto114 жыл бұрын
was the horn honking an attempt to soften the ice with vibration or was this dude just letting everyone know that he was here incase they missed him
@PaulScinocca4 жыл бұрын
Lol, the latter....🤣

As of the first horn didn't get get your attention 🙉
@stevewilliams93064 жыл бұрын
The first horn was the big ship saying hello to the harbormaster and the second was the harbormaster answering back .
@seanriley16034 жыл бұрын
I don’t think that ice slowed it down much. The collection of ice on the bow was pretty impressive.

"The Canal"??? Where is this? It'd be nice to know some details!
@southjerseysound73404 жыл бұрын
It's the Duluth ship canal on lake superior. But there's tons of them on the great lakes.
