Soooo glad you saved it from being chopped up and turned into a rod. And now, heading overseas to Hawaii for a show! I fully understand and respect your discussion on what a car is “worth.” I am staying in touch with the gentleman who owns the Phaeton convertible that used to be my grandfather’s. I do not know the condition it is in but I’d pay a lot more to see it saved. Same goes for the ‘30 truck my uncle still owns if we could ever convince him to sell instead of continuing to let it rot. I appreciate your dedication to the preservation of these antiques!

Congratulations Paul. You have saved an A from a rather dubious ending and it is now going to a good home. Old cars tug at the heartstrings so placing a value on them is close to impossible. I know a restorer that did a frame off nut and bolt restoration for a lady and the total bill was just under $50,000. The car looked beautiful and might have gotten $30,000. But it was the car her father purchased for her when she finished college around 50 years ago. Sentiment has no price. You did a wonderful job Paul and Tina. Bye the way hello from Bora Bora as I am on a large family vacation with a very long flight back to Michigan.

One cool Model A. Color is unique. You don't see that color on anything. I do love hot rods but very glad this one was saved & or rescued to original. Long while back, I did some body & paint work on a 1972 Newport Royal in 106 degree heat & high humidity. Painted with lacquer & surprisingly my best paint job ever. It was outside work too. Paint held up for 10 years until me & the Mrs. got picked up by a tornado one day. Thank God for Big Cars. Love them. That Was a nice ride too. Best wishes-stay cool if possible.

It would be well worth the small amount of money to buy a painters masker for the next paint touch up you do. They apply the tape to either different width paper or thin plastic that is way wider than those silly garbage bags that only partially protected your car. If the floor was covered in paint so was your engine bay and the grill bumpers and windows etc. mask off all sides of the car, wheels and throw a painter drop cloth over the roof of the car and on the floor of your garage. Box fans pointed out the door of the garage the garage doors pull down to them will help remove the airborne paint drift that will otherwise settle on the fenders you already glossed up.

(I'm sure there are some who'd disagree, but then, there's no accounting for taste...) And now, I'll jokingly join the throngs of those who just MUST tell you what you should'a done before anyone else gets a chance. "You know, when you did such-n-such, you really should'a done "this". and when you did "this" you should'a done "that". And when you used that thing-a-muh-jig????, well, you really should'a used the whatchamacallit! And I can't hesitate to say when you grabbed the whatchamahoozie, well, EVERYONE knows it really needed a goshdarnit!" Love ya Paul (and Model T). You've took me into a real appreciation of this car and hobby, even though I don't currently own one.....but I'm looking. The fun/frustrating part's been trying to decide what trim type. (Would it be dumb to want a '28 just because they have a red steering wheel? Sadly, there's not too many of them around up here in the Great White North in Ontario, CA. So, I think I've decide upon a Town Car (like there's a lot of those too, eh?) because of the back seat arm rests, curtains and it's vinyl roof treatment....ovalish instead of the pointy drop over in the rear. (let me know if I'm off my rocker on that last part....like, are they more prone to leaking should I get caught in the rain???) ) God Bless!

In fact I'm the "push button starter" on my grandfathers model a, and he would say it himself he would have got a model a ford if I was not there. I'm the motor man, the drive along mechanic, and the putter upper. This model a ford was the third car I've driven and hopefully the first I drive car on the road when I get my permit. I like stock ( more fun when you have to do all the adjusting yourself and just looks better ) I can time it ( lever and when it goes out of timing ). I got a lover of these cars impressed with me multiple times with naming the brass, steel, and nickel of the model t. but one thing that is very important is I want to make part that the only way you can tell the difference between the original and the ones I make is the letters PA ( Phillips Antiques ) to tell the difference, one part I know I'm going to make is a reproduction gas tank. if you ever met a person who says "these cars don't have a future after we die" show them this message. I always wanted to do this message but always forgot to until now. I will get a picture of me in front of the car ( pearl body color, deep red fender, 1930 fordor. Hope this gives some hope to people with a's, t's ( I like them to ) and b's ( those to ) I will try to get a picture soon but until then goodbye. Being a KZbinr is stressful. I work a demanding full time engineering job, and make Model A videos on the side, to help others. I spend more money to make the videos than they earn, because it is such a niche market and topic. Thankfully, there are some VERY generous people who contribute and help cover the costs. I still put some of my own money too, but thankfully not as much as I would have to without the generous people. The hobby's gatekeepers hang out on web forums and bash me all the time. You'll have to have thick skin if you want to be a Model A KZbinr. I'm autistic, so I never have cared what people think or say about me. It just makes me laugh!

I have wires for HF on the other end of the property. I gave away the tribander that used to be on the 55 ft tower. I'm kinda losing interest in HF. I just got home from doing night of night 25! I might do a video about it. Think anyone would care to watch? I'm kinda stuck having to do car stuff now, or people unsubscribe

Hi Paul, I noticed you used your cowl light arms to rest the hood sides onto. Is that something that was a design feature? Or just something you do? My 30 Coupe has hand made brackets each side in the engine bay to support the sides when open 🤔 Thanks for the great video

If you need a paint shaker, I'm sure I can find an old V-twin motorcycle engine. Vrrooom! I see that you are using rattle cans again. When preservation is more important than presentation, rattle cans work fine! Enjoy the aloha state. That and Alaska are the two I have never set foot in. And enjoy the respite from 100+ degree heat! Ouch! Well, time for me to get out and do some sweat equity on the wife's car. Later, Paul!

@@ModelA Well, the sweat equity is finished. Whew! 80+degrees and whew-midity! The hitch hiker side ball joint was bad and I replaced it. just now saw this video Paul , on this particular Model A that I have watched many videos on. Hey , ya did the best ya could in a pinch on that paint job, looked decent !!!! And I know what ya mean " EXACTLY " on that pricing your vehicle & the "WHORES" that are out there , ( JUST TO STEAL IT & MAKE A QUICK BUCK , AT YOUR EXPENSE ) !!! EXAMPLE ; had a 1936 Harley that I bought in December 1999 , was a decent bike from a dry mid west state . BUT , after completely restoring it to the last nut & bolt , having it judged several times at " MAJOR AMCA MEETS " 98 of 100 pointer, then keeping it in that condition & readiness till SPRING 2024 when I sold it, DID I MAKE MONEY ON IT ?? HELL - NO !! I PULLED TOP BUCK FOR IT AT CURRENT MARKET VALUE , but with all those years of " TLC " I would say I broke even at best !! AND WHEN I ADVERTISED IT ON ( FACEBOOK MARKET PLACE ) ALL THE ***** " WHORES " ****** SUDDENLY CAME OUT OF THE WOOD WORK, letting me know how much they would " OFFER " & HOW MUCH my 98 pointer ****** " WASN'T WORTH " ****** ????? Funny , how I payed the " WHORES " no mind , and got my number from a serious collector , and not just another " WHORE " !! FOR ALL YOU FACE BOOK MARKET PLACE ***** WHORES ***** OUT THERE , " K.M.A. " !!!!!!! PAUL , JUST ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO , KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK , AND PAY THE " WHORES " NO MIND !!!!!! THE MACK TRUCK GUY
