Paul, if you ever read this, it is absolutely normal for the child to only speak french, but if you go in England and let her interact with other kids, 100% she will speak English, not fluently yet, but by 10 she will be, keep talking to her exclusively in English, love ❤️❤️

A mon avis la raison du "Cache Cache" c'est parce que sinon ça ferait "Cache & Cherche" mais ça sonne pas terrible à l'oreille, eventuellement on pourrait dire "Cache Chasse" (Hide & Hunt) sonne plus sympa mais c'est absolument imprononçable XD !

My son used to hate it when we tried to speak in english with him. We tried a few times but he quite clearly didn't like it, so we moved on and spoke only french at home. A few years later, wrapped up as a challenge, we mentionned that a special curriculum was given in a college in our city (Dijon), with english class of course but also litterature, history and geography in english, along with all french courses. He now is almost perfectly bilingual, except for very specialised matters, and has opened up. It just wasn't the right time when he was 5, I bet your daughter will love her "father tongue" in a few years time.

I live in France, and some friends of ours just hired me to take care of their oldest kid on Wednesday after school to specifically get their kid exposed to native English. The kid was born in the States, so that unfortunately makes him an Accidentally American (it's legal terminology, his parents were working for a few years in the States at the time), and because of that they want his English to sound like he was "raised there", they try to only speak English at home (though they do revert back to French a lot), and the kid goes to a bilingual international school to try to help, but his instructors are like he understands English but refuses to respond back in it. So the parents are bringing in the big guns, and they want me to do my full dialect, tonot treat him like a second language learner. And I'm like, um, it won't be my fault then if he ends up with a NorCal accent 😂😂😂😂😂

I think your friends are right. Your "natural" speech has more than one "register" so the child will benefit from hearing, and using, a range of them.

@@Yiran Some linguists call this HRT (high rising terminal). Noted in NorCal, but common in other Englishes: NI, Glasgow, other parts of UK, Australia, other parts of US, young people mainly. Maybe NorCal is careful pronunciation? ("Yo-sem-ittay" not "Yo-Semite"). Silicon Valley accent?

@@paultaylorcomedy En voyant le commentaire Paul Taylor qui demande si n'est pas SoCal, j'ai eu une intuition So= south et No= north, et pour le "cal", j'ai pas cherché longtemps non plus, j'ai pensé directement à "Californie". Ce qui donnerait : SoCal = South California NoCal = North California Je suis français, et une grosse quiche en anglais... mais ces abréviations m'on parus évidentes en les lisant. Donc j'imagine que NoCal signifie juste un accent venant de la Californie du nord. (Et que donc le SoCal existe aussi, comme Paul Taylor l'a dit en pensant corrigé une erreur).

@@allafleche Je ne pense pas que les gosses soient nus à la crèche. D'autant qu'ils portent généralement encore des couches à cet âge-là, donc autant dire que si les enfants sont nus sans leurs couches, il va y avoir RAPIDEMENT du nettoyage à faire... D'ailleurs, mon fils a 4 ans et je pense qu'il a rarement vu des petites filles nues (ou d'autres petits garçons), sauf cas exceptionnel (par exemple quand plusieurs enfants prennent leur bain en même temps)
