Uli, these videos are so dang helpful. If a disc company put out this series, the solution would be, "Buy this disc which will solve all your problems!" Thanks for caring about the players.

Absolutely love these DTF videos.- Uli is out here educating dudes man.- This is what I needed to here.- Last round I played I felt my timing was badly off.- Lead to shots leaking out super early, and poor scoring.- No consistency.- The last 5/6 holes I started focusing hard on just slowing myself down, dialing it back and I played much better (it was too late for my score but I felt better).- That slowing down was more focused on not trying to rip every shot, but I'm going to take Uli's advice here and add that to my entire shot.- Slow my feet, slow my upper body, focus on syncing up my timing.- Great to hear that from a pro...

Love it man. Thank you! Came from baseball and I’m used to swinging my hips like a right handed disc thrower from my batting stance (I’m a lefty) so transferring my weight through my hips that way is natural. Now throwing my discs left handed on the other side, my hips and feet are all over the place lol. Gotta learn all over again. Thanks for all the tips!

I tend to do a little of everything mentioned here. In the shorter shots and still doing the walk up, I always think I am doing too much for the shot and I second guess my approach mid shot. I need to commit to my shot. These are great videos Uli.

This explained so much to me! A week ago I had a round where all of my drives felt super comfortable and went where I wanted and went far and I, honestly Mx couldn’t figure out why. But I watched one of those throws and my timing on them was perfect. So, now I just have to try and do that consistently 😬

If you ever find yourself looking for something to cover, I keep finding myself wondering about the connection/difference between spin vs. mph. I realize that connection and difference don't really go together even though I put a / between them, but that's sort how my understanding of the two work as well, so I'm going with it.
@bhinx74874 жыл бұрын
Timing is definitely the hardest thing to learn, and the hardest thing to teach. The few times I've happened to accidentally get it right, the power potential was crazy. Hoping some day soon it syncs up and I can get past this 350-400 plateau. I know that I'm using too much arm, and trying to muscle shots because my timing isn't on point.
@rutraftw4 жыл бұрын
Yep happened to me once accidentally and i parked one hole what is 120m what is almost 400 ft when usually my good drives end up in circle 2.

Same boat here bro, usually around 350-375 max and last week at league I parked a 398 ft hole to miss the putt lol.

Love the series Paul, can you do a video on learning how to win, how to finish... i finish top 2-3 almost every tournament, 1-3 or 4 strokes out of first way too many times , and its not hard to find those strokes that cost me , one bad hole , 3 putts i should of made, 3 more i could of made, 4 years in and i am close but i keep letting them get away. Getting over the top, learning how to win, those are the things i am always thinking about now. I have some wins but not as many as i could of. ... I am sure its mental, .Thanks Paul , your a great teacher of the game !

@toddheflin26062 жыл бұрын
as a new player 1yr-i find my self -trying to have fast arm speed with slower foot work-probably due to wanting more distance. this will be something to try as it seems that control is more important than distance
@Moving2Korea4 жыл бұрын
I like the idea Uli. I personally will do a stand still or use a single step even for shots >200ft. I feel I need a serious full run up at 250ft+. That's likely a serious anomaly. I could benefit from this because I feel like I have 450ft+ power but my timing and technique being way off limits me to 350-375ft. Clearly something is seriously off.
@mikebordner38204 жыл бұрын
I’m definitely guilty of the slow run up and fast pull through. I’m trying to match my reach back when my front foot touches but notice the next day the back of my shoulder and arm are too sore. Looks like it’s time for more practice 👍

Great content. I don't think you need to be to scared off going more into depth about the drill and how to continue further with it though. The reasoning is very clear, but it won't hurt to develop a bit more where the end goal is - Should people start slow and move their way up to bombing max speed? Should you just keep it slow and have it "cement" the timing to then be subconciously applied to higher power shots? (Questions that appear in my head as I am a beginner). I realize that you want to keep a very short video format though. It's a balance.
@micah_lee4 жыл бұрын
most of timing is practice. But good effective practice. I see a lot of people practicing to throw far by trying to throw far. However they may have heard danny lindahl say something about slow is far. So their feet go slow but their arm goes quick. But you need to practice going both slow and link it up. I’ve never put the two together until you just did. Thanks. But if you do want to see how far you can throw after a lot of field work sessions thats when you go fast feet and fast arm.

Love your content, man. Your videos have helped me in so many ways over the past couple months. Keep it up! If I could give you a small critique on your videos? Instead of saying, "That's it for this episode of down the fairway", I would just say, "That's it for this episode". Saying down the fairway twice at the end sounds redundant to me. It's up to you, but I think your signoff would sound cleaner if you just say, "That's it for this episode", pitch all your social medias, and then say, "I'll see you down the fairway" at the end.

@jamesstables66362 жыл бұрын
good video, oh sorry, i mean ‘content’ 😁 One thing with this is a lot of pros say to build from slow to fast. how do you drive fast if your feet can only go so fast. i mean your upper body must be going faster than your feet to drive 600’ surely. But I get the concept for short shots. Thanks
