Hi Paul - I'm interested in Accessibility. Adobe Captivate according to this article in not accessible to some screen readers. elearning.adobe.com/2019/01/two-significant-accessibility-issues-captivate-2019/ What is the best solution? To build your own pages in React and import the Javascript?

My approach has always been to keep courses that have accessibility requirements relatively simple. I limit the amount of on screen elements to mostly text. While this isn't as engaging as some elearning courses could be if an organization insists on strict accessibility requirements this is just what works for me. Frankly, most of my courses don't have strict requirements and I guess I've been lucky in that regard.

@@CaptivateTeacher We produce a text alternative of all of our courses and also limit Drag and Drop and roll overs etc. Having said that I do love this video and I will be keen to use your formula when I can.

Does anyone know how would I create an object with multiple captions for multiple scenarios like Paul has at the bottom?
@CaptivateTeacher3 жыл бұрын
Dan this is simply a rectangle shape where I've added additional custom states that contain all those messages. Do this before you start building the rest of the interaction. Select your rectangle. Click on *State View* and add custom states one by one.

Hi Paul. Thanks for another great video. I'm using a multiple drop target interaction and have tried to recreate what you've done in that context but get stuck at "object actions" where I just see the name of the group of selected drag items that I labeled when I created the interaction. Is there an easy fix for this or should I consider using another approach?
@CaptivateTeacher4 жыл бұрын
The possibilities are plenty. Each drop target can have its own actions as a result of a successful drag and drop. Take a look at a few of my drag and drop videos to get some ideas about how you can customize the drag and drop to your needs. Maybe go back and watch the live stream I did on drag and drop a few weeks ago. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqOylKN3iKp5mtk

Paul, this is a great tutorial. Paul, what do you do when you have more than one target that makes up a correct answer? I have a drag and drop activity where the student is building terms for medical coding. I have a smartshape with the caption "pertaining to the stomach". Within that smartshape I have three smartshapes (targets) : one for each word part that makes up the definition "pertaining to the stomach". I have word parts on the right of the screen as sources. The students drags the correct word part to the target. Once the students has dragged the correct word parts to the targets in the definition box. I want their to be unique feedback for that one definition. Does that make sense? By the way, I joined your youtube channel.

Cheryl Morse, When the answer to your question isn't suitable in my KZbin videos' comments, I refer viewers to my website. There you can purchase time for one-on-one instruction: captivateteacher.com/how-i-can-help/1on1-training Once you've made a purchase, I'll reach out to arrange a time that is suitable for a web conference session. I can share my screen and show you the steps to create what you need in Captivate.

Do you know of an easier way to copy and paste drag-n-drop content from one responsive Cp document to another without breaking everything? It seems the only way to keep everything functioning correctly is to copy and paste the entire slide with d-n-d content into the Cp doc you want. Which wouldn't be such an issue if the rest of the content surrounding the d-n-d interactions didn't have so much reformatting to do! 😒

No tricks. Just copy and paste the entire slide. Make sure you are using the same theme or copying slides that do not rely on fluid boxes that are on master slides.

Where did you enter the individual feedback text? I didn't see you do that.

At 1:28 I explain how I created a shape with multiple states where you can add the different statements as those alternative states.

Why do you need underscores before the variable names?
@CaptivateTeacher3 жыл бұрын
You don't need the underscore but it helps make it easier to find. If all your variables start with the underscore they will be grouped together and at the top of any drop-down lists of variables.
