it's really kind of you guys to keep helping people out with their form, especially since it's kind of the same advice every week just to different people. I think it's super helpful cause it keeps pounding into my brain all the little things to keep an eye on for myself.

Not sure how I stumbled across your guys page - think it was a equipment review - but every video I have watched, I have either learned something where I had an "ahaa" moment or just took notes and there aren't a lot of channels that give such detail to and focus on the minutiae of lifts and technique. Thanks a lot to everyone involved in the channel. Really is a source of proper lifting help.

FYI, you recommended that I work on limiting my reliance on the stretch reflex on squats, and I can honestly say that my hamstrings have never lit up more than when I started focusing on that. Hoping to hit 495 in April/May with this. Thank you!

Jakob Bogale I was dropping the last little bit of my squats quicker to try to get a "bounce" out of the hole. It's not terrible, but it's not optimal. I've been focusing on controlling the whole range of motion, and I've been doing heavy pause squats. I think it's helping.

I also stopped using that bounce. I can now feel the ground with my entire foot. Feeling like i can get more powerful easier

Thanks for tips! I think my form has improved a lot since then. Still have trouble with being a little overextended, and i think that compromises my depth a little. One thing ive been doing lately is to keep my legs straight and lean forward a little and keeping a tight upper back by pulling in my shoulders instead of compensating by overextension and ive found good results from that. Still got ways to go for good technique i guess.

Hey Bryce, this question is regarding sumo deadlifts...do you feel like it is more important to get a position that allows for a more upright back position, or one that sacrifices that for straighter shins (ie, knees not going over the bar) and higher hips?

Hey bryce, do you have any reccomendations for excercises to help my deadlift top range of motion? I find i end up with my knees locked and having to pull through with my back at lockout. Off the floor is generally not a problem. (I pull sumo)

@bikerboy3k 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah longer videos is actually a good idea. Dunno dude, i get that you're trying to fit everyone in but that's just fucking unrealistic. What if a thousand people submitted videos in December alone for example ? Means that he'll virtually never be able to catch up. Not the most ideal way of going on about it, i agree.
@stopsallmelb
@stopsallmelb 6 жыл бұрын
Travis Schpeltinger he says he either emails or the more important ones more people can learn from he promotes on the channel so all he has to do is get up to date within a couple of weeks. So email majority to catch up then have less wait and actually get use out of it

Should you still pause benches if you are doing a volume/hypertrophy block? I find with getting tight and trying to pause high rep work I burn all my energy off before I get all of the reps I could, almost regardless of the weight. Can I just get back to pausing when I get closer to meet prep time?

I've tried it both ways for the same reason. I eventually did get used to pausing higher reps. If doing touch n go, just make sure you stay tight and really control the descent. I think the better way to go is to stay tight and just do a quick pause, you'll get used to it.

@@rog69 pausing helps you explode out of the bottom is that not what you want when powerlifting?
@rog69
@rog69 4 жыл бұрын
@@spitfirepaintball16 u dont need to pause to explode... stretching reflex is much better. u are wasting energy killing momentum and then going from a dead stop...u want to preserve every ounce of energy/momentum to lift off your heavy single. also very bad for people with already bad proportions, like long hands for bench. also also, u don't really explode on heavy bench. every ipf meet bench reps are steady or grinder reps, u can't really explode from a lying position being very tight in your upper back, lat region. this ain't squat. light weight repping is a different story tho.
@kubeltrash8323
@kubeltrash8323 4 жыл бұрын
ro g You do realize most powerlifting federations require you to pause your reps on the bench right? They tell you to lower the weight, and then let you know when you can press. You can’t just ‘touch-n-go’ on your own
@rog69
@rog69 4 жыл бұрын
Kübel Trash I didn't say that's not the case, I'm talking about training, where pausing literally all ur reps is useless. Besides their pause is not that long and is nano second longer than a touch n go.
