I spent at least 2 years living from my couch because I couldn’t handle the stairs to my room. I get it. Ren speaks for us in a way that expresses our pain and helps us heal. So many struggle in silence 🤐

In an interview, Ren smiled when 'Urukai Master Plan' was mentioned and was excited someone heard it. He apparantly loves Lord of the Rings since he references the books in various songs. I feel this is a reference to the Nazi master plan as was writtin in LOTRO. Saruman wanted a master race of warriors to do his dirty work in Middle Earth. A reference to evil and associated various sins.

This is track 1 on the album and Ren knew this would be the first exposure to him in alot of cases. So he did a short version of his 13 yr journey through pain, being faced with death and his spiritual experiences. One thing u will learn as u do more of his music is that while most artists go for all "sonically pleasing" sound design, he prefers to use alot more character driven tone changes like aggression for e.g to deliver messages. Lots of subtle bars are hard to pick up on like (forensic being for-ren-sick) and the depth of the lyricism in every song always starts conversations. You're gonna be in the top 3 reactors in no time, because u have the mind and the skillset. Enjoyed your reaction alot bro. I would love the hear u do the "Money Game" series by Ren, imo they are the most important 3 songs i've heard in decades. The first is live and took 180ish takes, the 2nd is a lyric video (covid era) and the 3rd is his biggest video production thus far. The messaging in these songs is beyond words i can use to describe them.

Oh hell yeah. Your thing about 80/20 is spot on. Nobody is 100%. No two people are completely compatible. Nobody can fulfill you in every possible way. No matter how good the relationship, there'll always be aspects of your self that you have to find other ways to fulfill. It goes both ways, too. If you want to find your 20%, and expect your partner to be flexible enough to allow you the freedom to do that, guess what? You have to let them find theirs, too. Sometimes that's literal, with an open relationship. More often, it's through friends or hobbies. Expecting one person to be your _everything_ is just a fantasy, and that fantasy only leads to disappointment, and before you know it, instead of hanging out with friends and doing things you love, you're hanging out with a bottle in a bar, or just so miserable you can't enjoy the 80% that you _do_ have. You're a sharp dude... you seem young to have that much wisdom, too. Although... you did talk about being in the music business for 20 years, plus college, which would probably make you about the same age as me. 🤔 I hope your partner got the analogy and isn't upset about not being 100%. That's a hard pill to swallow for someone who hasn't had that particular epiphany yet.

Man, your 80/20 explanation was great. I'd been engaged for a couple years when I was in college. I loved him, but we had gotten comfortable. I definitely had that 80. He was just about everything I had ever looked for. Some guy in one of my classes caught my eye. We talked before and after class and had lunch together on campus. Then I sort of shook myself and thought wtf am I doing? I told that guy we couldn't even talk anymore. I realized I could give up the relationship I had to chase the new... and then do it all again in another few years... again and again. Always the new. Or I could have forever with someone. I'm happy to say we're nearly 26 years into forever. ❤
