Pav the soldier is by far the most complex contestant in Fear & Hunger 2. Being a soldier of Bremen, he is immediately disliked and distrusted by multiple characters which is reinforced by his violent and aggressive personality when aiming to accomplish his goals. However, we find his mission is to fulfull his personal vendetta against Le’garde, the Kaiser, who destroyed his home and family during the war. It was this reason he joined the Bremens despite them being his enemies in order to get close to and ultimately kill the Kaiser. If you reach the hollow tower before Day 2, you will see Pav do just this as he attempts to shoot the Kaiser, but is ultimately unsuccessful in doing so. Here you can either finish Pav or patch him up and take him back to the train for further dialogue. Pav is also one of 2 characters to not have a Moonscorch form as he will always perish before the night of Day 3.

The playable non-playable version had some broken moments, like pav being able to save himself from the kaiser day 1 morning at the tower. Some other events just had missing sprites as well. The standalone Playable Pav mod had actual unique story events that fit cleverly with the narrative already, with very few bugs, beside a very apparent walk sprite bug when moving diagonally with a gun.

@@JustDelta69its actually just how soldiers were trained to fire back in the day. that’s why you see lots of people holding their guns that way in pop culture (think of indiana jones, star wars, 70’s cop movies, 50’s sci-fi protagonists, etc)

Honestly, if you could get auguste, pav, and tanaka all together they could probably kill the kaiser. They are all badass despite being pretty much garunteed to die, auguste and pav actively wounded Le'Garde, while despite dying to needles tanaka didnt go down without a fight resulting in that needles going from having a 400 dodge rating on his head in all fights to having only 20 if its the one where he killed tanaka. Meaning he beat needles ass before they got the better of him

He’s one of the few where there’s been a birthday. His birthday is December 21st which falls on the winter solstice. One of the few characters with the chaotic soul :> Edit: Miro has made a chart for all the souls and almost each month gets about 2-3souls. Only exception is Solstice days having their own 2 day adventure. Edit 2: you can find the calendar on the F&H wiki. Article title is “Soul Type”, though any souls won’t link to that article.

To be fair, LeGarde probably had a lot more than just Ragnvaldr and Pav's families that want him dead. He's been the reason for a lot of people dying, whether he directly killed them or caused them to die by his soldiers/war and his experiment as the yellow king. Dude's done a lot of dirt.

as much as i love MGS, it’s actually just how soldiers were trained to shoot back in the day. think of indiana jones, han solo, 50’s sci fi protagonists, and 70’s cop movies. they all have wide stances and hold their pistols one handed because that was the “correct” way to do it

Well, the thing is, when he's hit by August Arrows he does gets weaker and makes the fight easier. Also, everyone in the first game, even the girl, the ghouls, the blood golems or the skeletons could beat his ass easily when he ascend to the yellow king

The dieties and their minions depicted there sure tend be sometimes rather extreme and brutal and if I recall correctly one of the 'staple' Nations/Factions in that game was 'Ulm' which is also another City in Germany... maybe there's a connection?

The yellow king aka Kaiser is such a difficult character to understand and pin point if his absolutely evil or good for humanity. On one hand he cares about humanity and its path to unity but on the hand his forcing humanity to unity through the means of technology without anyones consent. If you kill Kaiser humanity will certainly have a huge loss of life and misery but if you don’t kill him humanity has a chance. The best example I can think of is that The yellow King can be compared to Erin Yager from attack on titan. Yeah he’ll doom so many others but at least humanity has a relatively shot prosperous rebuilding.

SPOILERS FOR PERSONA 5 To me, Pav's story feels very similar to that of Goro Akechi. Both seek revenge against the person that ruined their lives (Le'Garde and Shido) and make it their goal to reach them by any means necessary (joining the Bremen Army and joining the festival, and using the metaverse to cause mental shutdowns and assassinate anyone Shido wants or needs), and will go through anyone that stands in their way to reach their goal.
