What does it mean to Pave it Forward?

"Pave it Forward". I recently changed the saying to best fit what I live by example. “Pave it forward” is a twist on the phrase “pay it forward,” which means to perform acts of kindness or generosity with the hope that the recipients will, in turn, help others. However, “pave it forward” implies a more active role in making a path or creating opportunities for others. It’s like laying down stones or groundwork so that those who follow can have a smoother journey or fewer obstacles. In this way, “pave it forward” suggests that helping others isn’t just about giving but actively building a foundation that supports and guides those who come after. Like the saying: You can give a family food to feed them for a week or you can teach them to grow and harvest their own food indefinitely. This way will create foundations that will surpass all the pyramids combined. I am always mindful of what kind of world I want to leave behind for the next ones to enter.
