91 is undeniably skilled but Barbs brought the finesse game on the wall (even some body checks!) and strong secondary scoring. I noticed in the tight-checking Germany game you seemed to excel, more than you did against Singapore. I was hoping for the quick zorro move in the second shootout, against Poland, but sometimes it's better to not be that guy. Still, I think you could have screwed that goalies read right up with that little flip we know you're capable of!

not sure about live games but swedens elite league (the SSL) is for sure the league to watch if you can find it, by far the best league in the world

What on earth is this sport? It's like ball hockey but with weird little sticks and goalies trying to look like stealth bombers.

Floorball. Huge in Scandinavia but relatively big otherwise in Europe, quickly growing elsewhere too. It's a great game, stick handling and technique valued higher than in e.g. Hockey, obviously less expensive entry into the sport etc. Rule wise it's sort of in between Hockey and Soccer I guess, you're allowed to body check but only shoulder to shoulder, can't hit someone in the numbers and can't slash other sticks and you're entirely without protection. It's a great sport, not to downplay Hockey or anything as that's my favorite sport, but it's certainly up there!

I will admit I know nothing about this sport but at first glance it doesn’t seem right that the goalies have no equipment…I mean not even a glove?!

I’m very late but that ball moves twice as slow as a puck does so it would be too difficult to score a goal

@@teukka623 Not true in the slightest. The record for the fastest shot in Ice Hockey seems to be about 175 km/h, while it's 205 km/h in floorball. The ball moves faster than the puck, but the players are slower. As for the original comment, due to the nature of the game, more equipment simply wouldn't help. Since the floor has way more friction than ice, it's much harder to move. You can't stay on your feet and you have to use your hands for some of the faster movements. Because of that, extra equipment like a stick or glove would simply get in the way.

Everything is going to look goofy if you're comparing to hockey. But you're talking about ball hockey, which is a far less successful sport worldwide and the gameplay is far less skilled and fast paced.

@@PavelBarber hey Pavel. To be clear I'm not looking down on this at all. Skill is skill regardless of what you play. I'm in Ottawa and I've never seen ball hockey played with those sticks before. Ignorance on my part for sure. :)
