the riff is...... the way the guitars are recorded in the studio version is just amazing... it's one of these songs where you can't really tell what they're playing, you don't think about chords, something that happens with most Pavement songs...it's like pure music, and weird notes put together.. pure music as something new and weird and exciting.

I suddenly realized while watching this that "Wowee Zowee" is one of my 10 favorite albums, ever, by anyone. Thanks for the kick in the tuchis. Pavement ist gut.

I once smoked as much weed as Malkmus probably had during this concert, I then realized Grounded was the greatest song ever written... Not saying you need weed to enjoy this but it sure helps understand the state in which this song exists, it helped them write this whole fucking album

Sorry. It just bugs me that this absolutely gorgeous performance of one of my favorite songs has so many people dissing my favorite band in the comment section. When both bands SHOULD have overlapping fanbases with similar tastes. It's ridiculous.

Hmm. After watching the DVD, and learning about all the drama between SM and Spiral, I can't help but be reminded of it when watching vids like this, or even listening to songs. I mean, SM comes across as a real douche, and I haven't heard good things about him online either. It seems like Scott was always getting shafted by him. BUT, I must say the double guitar in this live version is fucking killer!

Stephen himself has admitted that he acted like a dickhead at the end of Pavement, he even called himself the skinny prima donna. He was very frustrated because he was the only one growing as a musician. The others are just not as good as he is and it was weighing his creativity down. He was even pissed on occasions when the others would fuck up, but then again he fucked up regularly himself, and still does. He just wanted to play with better musicians to raise his game. And he did and does.

No, MM happens to be my favorite band of all time. I also love Pavement, and I respect the opinion of anyone who thinks Pavement is better. It's just saying that comment is "the dumbest thing ever said on youtube" kinda hurts because this is KZbin. Much, much dumber things have been said. As depressing as that is.
