19 when I first heard this. Driving to work at 5am seedy as f#!# after 2 hrs sleep partying night before. Friend had given me a tape of Slanted and Enchanted couple of days b4. Slipped the cassette into the tape deck and Summer Babe (Winter Version) changed my world and music taste forever. Thanks Pavement.

I was there aged 20 and this was the only band I really watched the whole festival, I was too stoned to move from my tent the rest of the time! And there were people robbing every tent when you left it. Mine poles had collapsed too. It was a great time. Never made it to another one.

Same, malkmus put way too much distortion on the studio version you can barely hear the riff, and his voice sounds way less energetic
