I thought so too, until I found out he was 6’7” not 6’10” His game didn’t translate to pros as well as Durant’s (6’11”) Ultimately Beasley cannot defend Elite Guards or Big Men Beasley is the probably the greatest Offensive “Tweener” of all time, but he was ultimately a matador on defense, so a Step Down from Melo. They can also always pay a younger guy less money with more upside now so his value is too diminished 🤦🏾♂️ Rough
@braddouglas80042 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbonhomme3677 I think he was before his time. If he came out the draft in todays league he’d be Jason Tatum. Big small forward with more of a scoring objective instead of being drafted back then when he was pushed into the power forward position.

@@braddouglas8004 He was my favorite college player inside of 30ft growing up. Sadly from watching his interview on I AM ATHLETE, his reactions to his life struggles ultimately created his downfall. There are SO MANY Earl Manigaults, Hook Mitchells, and Len Bias’ who are arguably a level ahead of Iverson, Jordan, and Steph NATURALLY, but instead lose the bag to mental illness, crime, and poor decisions Beasley is above these guys because he made it to the league and displayed that he belonged, but -Miami Nightlife -Family imbalance -and Poor Coping skills did him in

Beasley was a huge disappointment. Easily one of the best 3 high school players in the country his senior year (most likely the best, he was ranked 1 I think). The stats of his one year in college made him one of the most dominant college players of the last 25 years with 26 pts and 12.4 rebounds (rebounding leader). His total points and rebounds were third and second in NCAA history for a freshman. Leader in the NCAA in games with double doubles, games with +30 pts, games with +10 rebounds among others. He broke the record for double doubles for a freshman held by Carmelo Anthony. The dude was an absolute beast. He didn't have a bad career. He still scored over 15 pts a game easily but he was a defensive liability. He simply didnt perform like a number 2 draft pick should've performed.
