this kinda hit hard - "my boss would take the last of his lunch money to get me shining equipment". i don't know what that means to you out there, but i heard that my boss will spend his last dollar to make sure i have work to get paid. he's taking care of his employees over stuffing the overhead in his pocket. sounds like you got a great company there, a good boss.

Your guys videos are the shit love to watch them all, you guys do a great job. I’ve been running the screed now for 3 years started from not knowing a thing about asphalt 6 years ago. I don’t want to say anything because your guys work looks amazing but a little tip that I’ve found is that on the first pass if you drop your end gate completely to the ground it will create a square edge because your mix won’t be running under the end gate causing a slight rolled edge this helps a ton when you come with your second pass to match the joint you will find the joint is way easier to match especially if you’re matching the joint on the next day of paving with a cold joint it comes out beautiful let me know what you guys think. I know on this particular job there isn’t a big need to drop the end gate because all the joints are hot but definitely try it on your roadway work you won’t regret it! keep up the great work you guys are bad asses

Seems awfully cold to be putting down asphalt. Should’ve used concrete, it’ll last longer and your joints won’t crack like asphalt. I despise all roads that break out on the center line because of the cold joint.
