I was born and raised and still live 20 mins west of Daytona International Speedway and have gone to speedweeks every year since I was 6 years old back in 1994. I always said I wanted to go see races at Talladega and Atlanta because it's not to terribly far away but never get the chance to go. I am so excited to see the cars go around the new Atlanta I bet its gonna be one of the best races NASCAR has ever seen. @@worldssickestmedia2713 not a tri-oval but a quad-oval. In '97 they reconfigured it. Tri-oval is Daytona, Talladega. What they're doing with Atlanta right now is narrowing the turns and adding higher banking, which will probably result in a restrictor plate I guess, don't know.
@worldssickestmedia27133 жыл бұрын
@@daviclar867 derrrr. Yes sir. That's correct. Quad oval. And yes last big renovation was done in. 97. It was purchased in 90. 1st renovation was in 93 and 94 with the condos and everything. Then in 97 it got the works. Not trying to argue. And I don't know your age or where you live. But that's our home track. And before the renovations it was a massive sh!t hole. That place was falling apart. It had to be done. There was no saving it and it be cost-effective. They pretty much tore it down and built a new track. Just like now. The 25 year old surface needs repaved. It's falling apart. It has to be done. And then it will have changed again. It's necessary if it's gonna stay open and on the circuit. Like Lakewood Fairgrounds and North Wilksboro. You gotta either change and grow with the times or get shut down. And I love AMS. We drag race there on Friday nights on pit row. 1/8 mile, prepped track, full tree and everything. People race legends and 1/4 midgets on Thursday nights. We ride our sportbikes on the infield track. Road course cars. Car shows. All kinds of shit. I'd be heartbroken if they closed it. I'm glad they're repaving it. It needed it. It's gonna be way better.
