I agree about what you said for their fur and what needs to be changed. All in all, the new design looks really good and they truly made the pups more fluffy and cute. But I noticed that for some reasone they didn't bother animating the flahing of the lights/ lightbars on the emergency vehicles. What makes this even more weird is the fact that in Pups Save a Pet Show for a brief moment while Chase was aproaching Mayor Humdinger in the background the lights were flashing. I hope that they will bring thoes back because the point of the flashing is to make the people notice them. It also added more realism and atmosphere.

Some of the color issues could be how with the upgrade the pup's fur doesn't reflect as much light or have that plastic look they do in some episodes. Little sad the new title sequence is basically a remake of season 1 and they don't show any of the other pups though Chickaletta has a vehicle

Looks better than the old designs, although ryder's look is kinda different because of his face shape and body shape is not the same as he looks a bit more young as for rocky his eyebrows were thick tho hopefully they can get some of that fixed. But hopefully we see sweetie redemption arc in the future, more characters and locations happening in the new pipeline style!

Overall I think it looks great! I love the extra detail and fur effects, I think it'll make it stand up even better against new kids shows being released as nobody can accuse it of looking 'dated' ie because of more simple and less detailed cgi. Some of the background settings in the classic style looked a little liminal and lifeless in my opinion so the new style has completely fixed that. The new style is exciting, I totally agree about the shades of brown being off and Ryder's face shape and there's something charming and unique about the classic style but as a 32 year old childless adult, I look forward to seeing what they do with the new style 😅

From my understanding of why the browns look "dull," it seems it is because the lighting and materials are much more dependent on ray tracing than ever before. As a result, it's not really that the browns are "dull" but because everything else seems "brighter." It's a contrast thing because the brown fur color absorbs and reflect light differently. I'm sure they'll adjust some of the subsurface scattering stuff later. Since you said about vehicle textures, take a look at close ups of Farmer Al's truck. The small details with the rust and mud are just so nice. I do like this new Ryder and he actually now looks more his age than before. Katie has a great revamp, too. One other kid that we see briefly is Danny in the intro--though we see him more like he was before (which fits with my longstanding theory that Danny is probably 13). Finally, though, we stopped seeing Alex after 10 years in the intro though I look forward to how they are redoing him and the younger kids. Speaking Marshall, his design seems to be between his original design and the movie design. Basically, just ol' Marshall with his edges rounded off. Overall, I think the changes are certainly positive. Apart from visuals, the sound design is revamped, too. One small thing that irked me was how they loved using the "vroom, vroom, vroom" effect with Ryder whenever he was coming to a stop or appear in the beginning of a scene. Now, his ATV has a proper lower toned 4-stroke sound, replacing the old 2-stroke sound.

As good as this new animation is, some of my main issues with it is Ryder's new look/design. Why does he look younger?! Let me just say it does not look good at all and all I could say about it is... Yeeeessshhh. Is all I could put it. I'm sorry. But Mayor Humdinger's new design/look, good grief what the hell did they do to his design. He looks worse than before. Skye's new pipeline/design on the other hand isn't too in my opinion bad but my main issue with it is her darker fur color and the dark patches on her eyes. It really bothers me seeing her have dark fur color and those dark patches on her eyes. But as always, great video, Wolfie!!

Oh my goodness, I was so excited when I first found out about this! I just got back into Paw Patrol after seven years of not watching it anymore and now that I’ve returned…I am not disappointed! First of all these new designs are just flippin’ awesome! [or should I say “pawsome?” Haha!] I’ll agree that Ryder’s face does make him look young in this new design…seriously, I hope they consider fixing this… And I hope you don’t mind the quick ramble: I was able to watch the movie for the very first time last week! The pups are so fluffy and the animation is incredibly smooth! I love the plot and the character development and basically everything about it! And of course I still love the TV show! I realized now that it’s [in my opinion] a bit weird and quirky, but definitely not in a bad way! Over the past several years, I gained interests in other fandoms like Transformers and Warrior Cats, and it’s nice to finally take a break from all of that and watch something that’s little more laid back. I didn’t realize until recently just how much I missed this. And to know that there are other teens and even adults who are in this fandom brings me so much joy! I’ve got a LOT that I need to catch up on, but I am SO FLIPPING EXCITED to see where this goes! And heck, maybe I’ll meet a few people along the way! AAAH, I’M GLAD TO BE BACK!

I love the pups’ new designs. Though, Skye’s new look was a bit surprising because she somehow got darker or something. Ngl, I nearly freaked out when I saw Ryder. I’m probably just too used to his old design. And his new look now is nowhere near his look in the movies either. Still, their new changes are great, and it was worth it.
