Pl dont get misguided, he was the most corrupt chief minister of sikkim . The overall development in sikkim was much below the desired level as compared to the funds that has come from centre . Saurabh ji, kya batau bas maza aa gya.. 1 hr 40 min ka interview b lag raha tha ki kyu khatam ho gya.. jadugar aadmi ho aap.. My uncle Mr K M Lal was Secretary Finance with Jyoti Basu Government in WB, he was deputed in 1975 when Sikkim merged into India, he used to travel from Allahabad to Calcutta on Indian Airlines flight costing rs176 then, IAF plane sortie from Calcutta Airport to Bagdogra lifted him there, then a convoy traverse thru Snaky roads to Gangtok. Sometime if weather permits, then army helicopter was available.Jigme singhe wangchuk honoured the referendum then, it was a serious development as Nepal and China were perplexed over moves by the sikkim peoples, Indira Gandhi was instrumental in securing India apart from other internal and external threats since 1971war, birth of Bangladesh, 1974s Smiling Buddha- Nuclear Capability, all culminated into 25 june 75 emergency being promulgated, (about 40days after Sikkim merger) a very deeply rooted thinkable exercise by the cabinet. The everchanging scenario of India becoming power centre was the eyesore of US,UK, France, China, Pakistan combine who faced debacle in 1971 war collectively. This aspect is never talked about in general, the threat perceptions were high, the foodgrains, sugar, petroleum products were sourced from foreign lands, the need for white, green revolution started then.

Many programs and policies conceptualized by Shri Pawan Chamling are been adopted by the Centre under Modi Government now. Such programmes are Skill Development program which was introduced in Sikkim in 2007, Swatch Bharat program which was introduced in 2003 in Sikkim and got Nirmal Gram Puraskar in 2006 on Best Cleanlines State in India, Slum Development program which was introduced in Sikkim in 1997 providing Free House to homeless which was later changed to Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme and Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme providing one storey building to kutcha house family, Organic Farming which was introduced in Sikkim in 2003, Free LPG connection which was introduced in Sikkim in 1999, Green Mission on which Shri Pawan Chamling was awarded with Greenest Chief Minister of India in 1997, eVidhyarthi program in which free laptops were provided to Students of class xi to college level, and many more. So, he is a exceptional leader.

I m from Sikkim whatever he says is all true, if in Indian Constitution and election commission give permission to contest election in multiple seats without limitation to seats, Sikkim has 32 seats in legislative assembly and if he contest in all seats he will definitely win all seats with huge margin of votes and form government
