The fact is when i installed from fresh Inav 4.0 from 3.0 i had lot of vibration and hot motors. The discord guys didn’t help keep asking if i had paste from previous firmware the cli. Well now i appreciate you coming out with this video at least shows that the default filter in Inav4 are not the same as Inav 3. Question that was keep asking and never got answer

Hi Pawel, I have a Flying wing that get a hot motor, ESC stays cool and is not pulling to much amps, motor is not over propped. Any suggestions how to get it cooler? Did autotune with no succes 😅 thanks for all the work you putt in this 🙏🏻

Hello Pawel is there a chance to remap led strip to servo resource in INAV? I am using FC with no additional S outputs besides motors and searching for a way how to connect a servo. Thank you.

how do you change dterm type 1 to type 3?

well, i had my 10-12" quad running perfect on betaflight smooth and cool motors. Built this for Inav but been fighting iNav for days to get it tuned. Motors are warmer now instead of hot bafter all your suggestions but i guarantee its not a hardware issue or it wouldn't be perfect on betaflight. Not sure about all this unicorn filters or the filters in Inav in general. Ill keep trying.

I am NOT a computer guy and very New to FPV/INAV and don't know how or when I should need to use the cli commands it's prob why i wreck/crash often,So is their a List of commands and what they mean that i could print out. Does anyone have a link. Thanks

Will this be implemented in inav 5 ?

I still have a f450 frame with 10 inches props. I used default settings as explained since profiles for that type of kit don't exist anymore. It flies correctly, and I didn't notice hot motors, but I'll check as summer is coming. By the way, any idea to replace this old fashioned frame, but keeping my 10' config? Thanks!

Permission to ask Sir,,, is this tutorial relevant for INAV 7 or INAV 7.1 RC 2 maybe? I had same issue with hot motors when migrated from Betaflight to INAV. After i flash back to Betaflight the issue is gone. Thank you in advance

For every INAV there is. It's not version specific

What is the root cause of motors getting hot? I mean how is this happening that motors drawing more current, but without producing trust?
@FPVUniversity8 ай бұрын
with AC (and those are AC motors) current lags behind voltage. That mean, power is delayed and needs time to build up. Also, motor has intertia and it has to spin up to deliver more power. As a result, short increase of output power does not increase mechanical power in the beginning. Before it has a chance to build up, it's cut again. As a result, motor produces a lot of waste heat, very little extra mechanical power. And even if it does spin-up, it will do active breaking when demanded power will go down

I put 4.0 & think left it in don't remember. I have 8" right now(I run 7" on it too) I got whatever default pt is. I never checked if motors hot since going 3 to 4.. I lowered lpf value think to 90 D gain 1.4 with 5500 speed

Inav should have profiles collection for different size of frame en props....

Déjà vu! I've had that problem a time ago with Betaflight on a Karearea Talon. It was just an unlucky combinaton of hardware and the control loop. It always resonated at about 50-60 Hz and almost cooked the electronics. I even had a dialogue with UAV-Tech about it. The only solution was changing the motors. Haven't experimented with it for a while now.
@FPVUniversity2 жыл бұрын
50-60Hz resonnance means the frame is either super crappy or damaged. Modern frames should not have modal frequencies in this range at all
@M0rdH0rst2 жыл бұрын
@@FPVUniversity It was the first version of the Talon with the vertical frame. In combination with E-Max motors @ 2400KV. As far as I remember, I was not the only one back then. I put on motors with a higher KV and that solved it.
@Quick-Flash2 жыл бұрын
@@FPVUniversity I can actually make any drone oscillate at 50-60hz. Whenever I see that on a log my first impression is that you have to much filtering and the pids are resonating, not the frame
@FPVUniversity2 жыл бұрын
@@Quick-Flash agreed, but you would really have to try to do that. Something has to be seriously off

Never import your PID and filter settings into a new firmware. That goes for betaflight as well.

iNAV 4.0....At the very least, if your going to have no prop size quads for default PIDs. Then it should be based on a 5 inch quad....with PIDs that WORK!!!...Hot motors are a reality using default PIDs...not good enough... you've made it worse..😳😳😳😳😳😳😳🇬🇧 Why tell us in this video how to set the filters?...Set it as a default...😳

Back to the drawing board ,makes me a bit nervous about inav 5, back to 3.02 me thinks, at least there was a preset for different size quads in that which seemed to work out of the box!
@EnglishTurbines2 жыл бұрын
@@grumpyrse Agreed, it cooked 4 of my motors on 4S in a short hover, even the Lipo got hot because of the amp draw. It's not the first time it's happened either. I have 3 older iNAV quads all with GPS that are STAYING as they are. Loaded the new cooked quad with BF and it just worked, no problems and cold motors....🤔😳😳😳😳🇬🇧

@M Scion Agreed, this is a serious flaw, default dangerous PIDs and filters. At the very least it should work out of the box on a 5 inch... IMO..
