I like Mike because not only does he exude a quiet confidence that adds weight to what he saying, but he’s also very respectful when handling swords or dealing with customers. I wish he had his own YT channel where he talked about certain swords of projects he was working on. I’d subscribe in a heartbeat.

The barrel of the machine gun was overheated and quenched over and over due to the charging japanese, so that when they arrived, the sword managed to snap the barrel with ease. It has often been used as 'proof' of the magic of katanas, but it wasn't magic at all.

for those who like real deal katanas, check out the Nihonto shows around the US. It's a blast to learn from the oldtimers and hold $100,000 swords. Most are 10,000 and under and some under 1000. These shows wont last much longer as the old guys are dying off.

The steel isn't that good. That's why it is folded so many times. To get the impurities out, which makes the steel loose carbon, which has to be put back. I'd take modem powdered steels through hardened rather than tamahagane.

how sure we are, if the buyer calls the appraiser in and telling them the seller asking price before the appraiser come and appraise the items...in that case the appraiser will never go higher than asking price by the seller...best the buyer to call the appraiser in-front of the seller...i don't see this in any of pawn start videos....
