My first bike was a 1973 Honda XL175. I was 18, walked into a dealer, picked one out. I’d never ridden a motorcycle before. Got a quick demo in the parking lot on how to ride it ans was hooked on a lifetime on riding! It’s been a real love affair! Got a Harley now. Which, by the way was the first motorcycle I’d ever rode on when I was 5.

I had a 1965 Honda CD 160 when I was 15 years old, it was black and it was in rough condition when my dad bought it. We did a complete overhaul restoration on it ,and then I must of put 1.000.000 miles on it and it never left me stranded , EVER! it was a great dependable bike ,I wish I still had it! I've been riding motorcycles for 51 years now and I wish I still had all of the 148 bikes I have owned and ridden again ! True love !

Remembered this episode of Pawn Stars when it aired and instantly recognized what Rick was looking at. Right down to the off white paint and double seamed chrome exhaust pipes this is identical to the ‘66 CB 160 I bought in ’69 for $350 except I recall the fenders flaring slightly front and back giving it a more streamlined look. Nice bike and dependable ride for a fifteen and a half year old who could fill the tank for less than a handful of quarters and the only thing better than cruising out to the beach with the guys was giving local girls rides around town and enjoying the discoveries every tap on the brakes would bring though some risk was involved it being illegal to carry passengers with just a learner’s permit… maybe I was sixteen and licensed when I started doing that? A memorable episode from a great show.

That takes me back. My first bike was a '65 Honda Superhawk. I bought it in '70 and it was pretty tired. Too heavy for me so I traded it for a ten-speed bike. The poor boy who traded with me tried to blast that old bike down Highway One and blew up the engine. :-(

-Yes indeed That 160cc first year Honda was a great bike to look at & a great bike to own. I like everything about that bike & the list would be to long to list here. But just a very few things would be Duel carburetors-slant cylinders-3 color option-front And rear shocks & padding on both sides of the gas tank. Even though my main bike is a Yamaha 750 twin I would still love to have this 160 just for display and a short 1 mile ride about every 7 or 8 months.
@dannyroggemann58214 жыл бұрын
I had that exact same bike...same color..it sat in a guys garage for 20 some years and we checked the oil put gas in it and it fired up...the only thing that didn't work was the speedometer..the cable was frozen..the seat didn't even have cracks... I bought it for 250...in southern Michigan..

CB's were tough old bikes, a Mate bought a CB350/4 (I think it was a 72 or 74) for about $50 Bucks back in the mid 80's, rode it 2000 clicks to my place, I put a Carb kit in for him, tuned it up & gave it a quick paint job, he spent the next 12 months riding around the coastline of Australia, sold it about 5 years later for a bigger Bike still running perfectly for several hundred dollars.

Loved that bike, but quickly found out how many people didn't see me making a left turn and almost ran me over several times. The light weight of this ride was very attractive. That while one is cool
