Coins that have been in jewelry are always worth way less than non jewelry coins.
@timber72Ай бұрын
Not when they are famous pieces like this.
@ludo3375Ай бұрын
I looked this up and found it on Jeff's company's website. It's listed for 235,000. I doubt he ever intended on selling it on this show haha
@AradiaChappellАй бұрын
Oh my frickin God! What a gorgeous piece! Worth far more for the aesthetics than gold value! Twice what the man is asking in auction for the discerning eye.
@EmmureMARIO64Ай бұрын
Rick would be like “Corey WTF DID YOU DO?!”
@marianmoesinger3825Ай бұрын
Wrong. I willing to bet Rick would have said: Yeah I know they are rare and expensive coins but you see they turned it into jewelry, which in the coin world you don't do that! That cuts the price of the coins more than half. I tell you what I'll give you $80,000 and not a penny more and i dont even wanna pay you that, believe me i think it's more than a fair offer because i'm taking a really big risk here.

@@marianmoesinger3825 Feil !
@CatsMeowPawАй бұрын
The coins would be damaged by placing them into the necklace, but overall it's an awesome pieces. I would get each coin checked out individually, as back then and now it's not illegal to make fake Roman coins.

Jeff was just getting a little free advertising for this piece.

Auction is the best way to go for this piece.

Rick probably lost it when he heard what he missed out on.
@cameronwallis7024Ай бұрын
Dave said it averages out at $10k a coin, and there’s 33 coins, so I thought he would value it $330k?
@guilesivann1949Ай бұрын
Some coins were soldered, meaning their numismatic value was ruined.
@mrig6sic617Ай бұрын
That's the coins alone if they were separate not intact in one piece 😊😊
@Nick550Ай бұрын
Coins in jewelry are considered damaged because they’re either soldered or have clasps that scuff them and that really takes away the value.
@tommywolfe2706Ай бұрын
Based on the coins alone it was worth the asking price. But the fact that it was made by a famous jewelry maker, has such unique coins, has such a fantastic history.....he should have told them $350k, that way when they talk him down, its at the price he wanted. Everyone knows that this is all staged anyhow, right? The "pawn shop" is actually a studio and this is all set up beforehand. The real pawn shop shares a building with the studio, and that is where the real business happens.
@timber72Ай бұрын
This is hilarious. Jeff Garrett is one of the most famous dealers and authors in coins, and David is, of course, one of the head graders at NGC. The guy with the least amount of cred in this video is Corey!
@nickfrost9771Ай бұрын
And you saw how David was frozen in his walk right when he saw Jeff. This is pathetic if they have to stage clips like this. I guess anyone who had anything already traded in all their grandparents stuff...
@jeffreylockhart8292Ай бұрын
He brings this in a pawn shop? I see lawnmowers and burnt out tools there. Bicycles. He needs to take this to Christies?
@davids11131113Ай бұрын
If it’s such a slam dunk to sell for $250k then he can just go do it.
