Star Wars fans care about condition, the difference is Star Wars collectibles are popular with the full range of income earners and wealth owners. As a result, people on the lower end will often pay a lot for poorer condition pieces just to have them, since they can't afford the mint condition stuff. In contrast, fine art pieces lose almost all their value for condition problems, because those who want them are willing and able to spend more on the best condition.

"I'm taking all the risk here" is just annoying to hear because it isn't true at all. Both parties take an equal risk. If you go to a pawn shop, the risk you take as a seller is getting low balled and ripped off. The shop is probably taking less of a risk considering $7,000 isn't going to bankrupt them. The only risk the Harrison family likes to take is with obesity.

Its a fake tony. They got conned this time. At that time the figures were being made with cloth. Fakes were easier to be spotted by that alone, also the originals had the mustard yellow backing behind the figures, not grass green. Also the packages would look more worn. I don't care what "family ties" hook the seller used, he used a convincing con. Also he sold real ones with the fake ones so they couldn't be spotted as easily which is also a clever con tactic to use.

@@Openreality If he had a real vinyl caped Jawa that's 40K alone. Impossible to find as the first edition and went out of production so fast. The Darth Vader and Luke were already second-round figures with non 2 part lightsabers. If you have a rare Jawa you should have the 2 piece lightsaber Vader and luke. Plus I would not even make them touch the cards let alone waving them in the air. 40-year-old items damage easy. Kept in a shoebox, come on! Fakes for sure!

Corey got hosed on this one because that Jawa is a foreign (french?) card which screams it is a fake (or at least worth a lot less than the English version). The big headed Han is the only one with decent value (2-3k) since that was a temporary production flaw. Corey will be lucky to get $4-5k for entire lot, so definitely a loss for the shop.

Learn to negotiate correctly like this guy. They will low ball you- you gotta give an offer that’s close to reasonable asking price yet higher. You’ll often meet in the middle with these deals so long as the item will have a quick turnaround. Ask too much they will be less than willing to be reasonable. Go low you are throwing money away. It’s a secondary market after all you’ll never get full price so don’t even try.
