Arcade vet here. Anytime you sell an arcade for less than $200, you're pretty much-losing money. The shells alone are worth that much. The best thing you can do now of days is custom build arcades, as the older ones are just wearing out too much. That's why you see so many Chinese Knock-Offs going for $300. If you want the best bang for your buck, and maybe more, find a professional arcade builder and have them put something together. It may cost a bit more but they're a lot better built and you can get multi-game machines.

Corey asks the guy with the slot machine, "What did you pay for it online?", before making his offer. How would he like it if all their customers started asking how much the pawn shop actually paid for the items displayed on sale. It doesn't matter what you paid to get it years ago, what matters is how much it is worth when you walk into the pawn shop to sell it. Rick has asked the same thing in the past with some customers smartly declining to answer. Then sometimes Rick tries to guess what they paid for it. There was one negotiation in which Rick was trying to lowball a customer and said, "I know you probably only paid about $10 bucks for it". That doesn't matter if it is worth $1,000 or more now.

That donkey kong machine is worth way more than $800....

Probably in post pandemic pricing. Back when this was filmed it was probably worth that price. I remember seeing used kong cabinets in the early 2010's for $500-700 on craigslist.

The show is often very lame and annoying but it's cool to watch purely for the memes it unintentionally created and, of course, the cool antiques that are brought in. At the end of the day, it's another scripted/fake show like 90% of Television, but the antiques make it interesting.

@@TheAnonymousIndividual Honestly I am going to have to agree with you on that. A lot of the times it’s all acting and scripted out. But yeah it really is interesting to see all of the antiques there and they do make the show a lot more interesting to be honest with you

@@chrismobiliophotography5743 Yeah, exactly. I watch it because the stuff brought in is cool. Often great pieces of History.

These machines maybe. The ones like DDR or Street Fighter II would likely make more than that in a day at the right place.

What they pay for the item sn't what they're gonna sell for, usually 2 to 3x times the amount they offer the buyer.

That guy burned himself or its just a TV price and not what was really paid. Even 10 years ago those cabs were 1000+ individually.

That Terminator Slot Machine from Japan takes tokens because gambling is illegal in Japan, so slot machines like that (nicknamed 'Pachislot' which is basically Pachinko+Slots) plays with tokens in stead. Also it looks like a skill stop game but really it's still luck based, your stops won't change anything, but the winning chance is increased by each play.
