lol. That bike needs $2000 worth of work. Or you can spend 40 hours a week for the rest of the month parting it out and selling it on eBay. The seller was not a negotiator at all he was a typical delusional seller

"Some condition issues" is an understatement. Its was a fair offer. 100% restoration job would easily have exceeded the market value. Searching for parts would have been a chore.

@@kalijasin - it's a total stripdown. I just did a resto on a complete (when found) 69 Z50-AK1 and just salvaging/renewing OEM parts where able and hitting the aftermarket for the remaining 10% of "unfindables", I easly sunk $3.5 - 4K into it...on a 59 benly......I could see $6-7K "invested" in a restoration with a resale of about $3500 maybe eek a little more if any OEM parts can still be found (with receipts for proof). You do these bikes for the love of them, and that's about it.

I actually agree with Corey here. Even 700 was too steep. It'll cost away more than that to restore it.
@electrohacker
@electrohacker 8 жыл бұрын
I bought one in much better shape for $500, $700 seems high for that, but in nevada that might be going rate for a private sale, that being said, the pawn shop would have to do a lot of work to even make that something someone would even look at. the headlight, speedo, exhaust, sidecovers were all missing and I can see lots of incorrect and probably stripped hardware. it's a parts bike or a bike someone would have to love.
@Locutus
@Locutus 7 жыл бұрын
I agree, if they sell in good condition for $2-3,000 then Corey has to spend $1,000 on fixing it up, he has to get the bike for next to nothing to make money on it.

About 2 years ago I seen an early 60's Honda dream at a yard sale. Hadn't been used since the 70's according to the plate. Complete and priced at $400. One of the problems is the battery for those things....that size is no longer made. Would have been a fun project but I didn't have that money to spend then.

Eh i parted out a riding lawnmower motor with a cracked block on Ebay a kohler courage 20 SV600S and sold the parts of it for more than $300 over a 2 month period and that was just a normal old single cylinder motor so good usable parts are definitely worth money in todays economy just have to put in time work and patience.

my guess is the selle r has more than that into it. Probably bought it as a project, then decided it would be too much time, effort and money. The problem is when people buy a "project" then need to get out of it, they can't understand why someone else won't pay the same or more than they did, when they should just cut their losses and sell it.
