@bullrockny
@bullrockny 3 жыл бұрын
@@SevenRedSunsOfficial It takes an insane amount of overhead to run a business like that. Imagine how much time is spent year after year showing people the same item which you must safely store in your establishment without damaging it. They need experts and appraisers, reconditioning, taxes etc etc. The list goes on. It's a business, he should be paying around half of what he can sell an item for, just like any other business buying wholesale and selling retail. You clearly don't own a business

Arcade vet here. Anytime you sell an arcade for less than $200, you're pretty much-losing money. The shells alone are worth that much. The best thing you can do now of days is custom build arcades, as the older ones are just wearing out too much. That's why you see so many Chinese Knock-Offs going for $300. If you want the best bang for your buck, and maybe more, find a professional arcade builder and have them put something together. It may cost a bit more but they're a lot better built and you can get multi-game machines.

Multicades are barely originals and there’s a good chance most are created from a rom file, so, he doesn’t know what he’s saying when looking at a non-emulated Donkey Kong cabinet. I mean, yea, casual arcade gamers just wanted to play a lot of arcade games, but true nintendo/arcade fans really want the original deals to preserve history.

Corey asks the guy with the slot machine, "What did you pay for it online?", before making his offer. How would he like it if all their customers started asking how much the pawn shop actually paid for the items displayed on sale. It doesn't matter what you paid to get it years ago, what matters is how much it is worth when you walk into the pawn shop to sell it. Rick has asked the same thing in the past with some customers smartly declining to answer. Then sometimes Rick tries to guess what they paid for it. There was one negotiation in which Rick was trying to lowball a customer and said, "I know you probably only paid about $10 bucks for it". That doesn't matter if it is worth $1,000 or more now.

The show is often very lame and annoying but it's cool to watch purely for the memes it unintentionally created and, of course, the cool antiques that are brought in. At the end of the day, it's another scripted/fake show like 90% of Television, but the antiques make it interesting.

I only cared about getting the 007 Goldeneye and Dark Knight pinball machines, and the sit-down motorized version of Space Harrier. Goldeneye and Dark Knight were pretty easy, I got original ones that were practically new for $750 each, but a really clean, working Space Harrier was tough. I ended up finding one that needed work and had it restored, and it wasn't cheap, I have ~$3000 in it, but it's my all-time favorite arcade game and worth it to me.
