That was easily the most dramatic reaction I've ever seen on the show to bad info. IDK how I haven't seen that clip in any of the "angry seller" compilations on this channel yet. I feel bad for him, but at the same time, there have been MANY sellers that lost more than that who didn't have anywhere near as bad of a reaction. I think it's his wife that made him mad. She probably called him stupid or something for buying it (even though I doubt she knew it was fake) and the humiliation from knowing he's gonna have to break the news to her combined with a pretty big financial hit is just pushing him over the edge. Crazy.

One thing I've always wondered about: Why do Americans even sell their antique furniture, books, paintings and whatnot to a PAWN SHOP? Back here in Europe pawn shops are for those who are basically bankrupt and you usually pawn your jewellery, power tools and such, with the intention of reclaiming them later. If you seriously want to sell/buy antiques, there are a antique shops, antiquarian bookshops and antiques auctions that specialize in that stuff.

The script for each and every client in every episode: Client: I'm having this item, i'm asking for 10,000 Rick: This is a nice piece, i'm gonna bring a buddy to see if this is legit and how much is worth Expert: Is worth about 20,000 to 22,000 Rick: So, how much are you asking for it ? Client: The expert said 22,000, so I want 22,000 Rick: There's no way, I'll sell it for 20,000 - 22,000... the auction fees are big.... i'm giving you 12,000 Client: Give me 18,000 Rick: 14,000 Client: 16,000 Rick: Best I can do is 15,000, and that's a huge risk! Cient: Ok. Backstage client: I hoped to get 10,000 for it from the begining, and I way more than I tought I will get. Really good deal! You're welcome... the most boring series... I'm only watching to see the rare items that come there, but skipping the entire negociating and expert opinions.
