If I mess up a tap root, because in a pot it ended up tap rooting right through, should I let it be or should I just cut it? Is a ruined tap root necessarily death for it? The casing or outer edge broke off in the soil.

Ive been wondering if water would stop the tap root.

How did the Pawpaws do in the tall pots you showed in this video? Did they rot?

Hi Jim We have 1 paw paw tree and are looking at getting a second. Would it be better to grow a new tree from seed or dig up a root sucker and transplant? I have access to both options from my uncle who also has paw paws. If we dig up a root sucker do we have to dig around to separate the roots from the mother before we try to transplant? Ive been reading some but i find it difficult to find much information on paw paws. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

If you start from rootsucker you will want to cut the root loose from the parent tree and leave it where it is for a few weeks (6 wks) to allow it to develop it's own roots. However, seedlings are a good way to go. Thx for watching 👀.

Mineralize it with some ida grow phosphorus. See 7 springs farm online. Natural Phosphorus will improve flowering/fruiting. Then be sure to cross pollinate with an alternate variety. Hand pollinate.
