I just looked at one my older videos from 6 months ago from closed alpha and they had two more types of wood. But looking at it now I think they have removed it or at least disabled it. I will make a video about it when I discover more.

The tree's that are a lighter color than the others, have been reliable for me to figure out which tree's to go for. Smoother bark, lighter color.

Love this. Just got that axe and haven't gotten that wood yet. I just tried the ax as my first craft and lucked into it

Yeh the wood has low drop rates and it's RnG based, very annoying. But I think the next level axe will increase the drop rate, but not 100% sure.

Once you get a wrought iron axe you can consistently get heartwood from the squiqqly looking trees in the lands of stone. If anyone is on Prometheus - Ancien region come to the stonelands in Torvus. I will hook you up.

Heartwood drops from Trees with rough Bark (fluted Bark?). The Trees with smooth Bark only Drops Sapwood.

Subbed. Do certain trees have a better chance of dropping heartwood? I know you sort of addressed that you couldnt discern a pattern, but hoping the last 5 days might've revealed more ;D

So far the best I have found is the thick ones with dark bark. That's using the wrought iron chopping axe. They drop around 30-50 heartwood per tree. I will update if I discover more

how do you make a mining pick? I keep coming across Mines but can never gather them lol

The stone pickaxe is crafted at the carpenters bench and the higher tier ones are crafted at the weaponsmith bench. You need long wood stock's which are made at the chopping block.

If you have crafted an iron bar and are at the right level of blacksmithing it should unlock in the basic forge

@@ModeratelyTolerable hmmm, crafted several iron bars (trivial now) and still no iron spikes available. Do I need to have the upgraded anvil maybe?

You need to craft the iron spike at the forge, to make a forge you need to craft a bellow which are made at the blacksmith bench

Yeh it may be a carpentry level based or something like that, I'm not 100% sure but that sounds right. Let me know if you figure it out 👍

Just hit Carpentry level 7 and I can make Fine Wooden Planks
