Fantastic Video!! It brings Memories back of the great Paxman Valenta. Living in Bath, HSTs are regular for me, it's not the same anymore with all the rumbling MTUs, you just cannot beat the legend that is the Valenta!

I have fond memories of Valenta HST's at Teignmouth. You should have filmed one of the stopping northbound HST's, in order to get out of the station they had to go full throttle to climb the small bank from the station to the sea wall. 1998 was probably the best year to see valentas in action because of the diverse liveries! 5* vid m8, priceless.

Oh no no, these announcements are Phil Sayer. Several interesting interviews in here. He died in 2016. I think they were the best station announcements we ever had.

A splendid video - it is quite a thing to see and hear the HSTs as they were originally built - and as I remember them! Would you have any objection if I were to use fragments of the audio from this and other of your videos as sound effects in a free, open-source non-commercial computer game called Simutrans under the Artistic Licence 1.0 (opensource.org/licenses/Artistic-1.0)? I should happily credit you, of course.
