I think it’s more likely that Dr. Gross either was defeated by Tiffany but uploaded their consciousness into Tiffany’s implant wirelessly or had a fail safe placed in all the implants they made, and Tiffany being the closest one in range, got taken over by Dr. Gross, OR they WON the fight and is using Tiffany as a backup unit while their as their main body was too damaged. Either way the “Tiffany” we see in the Finale credits isn’t ACTUALLY “Tiffany”, because Dr. Gross doesn’t seem the type to hand out “free” upgrades as “Thanks for helping the people who burned and destroyed decades of my work escape, here are some upgrades as proof of my gratitude.” Either that or Tiffany somehow learned to upgrade themselves after ripping off/stealing the parts off from Dr. Gross’s robot body. But seeing that Tiffany is mainly a thief and not a human cybernetics specialist/surgeon or whatever, they are more likely to sell the parts after stealing them as they probably wouldn’t know how to attach them on themselves or be able to find someone who can willing to help a known thief, without payment upfront, and Tiffany while a bit dumb, is street smart enough to not try and scam some back alley surgeon with “connections” to local (corrupt) law enforcement or “other organizations”.

I like to imagine Dr. Gross and her ship being badly damaged only to be transformed by the Elemental Curse which preserves until Lumpy Space Princess resets Ooo. Upon being reset like everyone else, Dr. Gross and her ship is perfectly fine to continue her dastardly experiments another day.

Sure they had issues but they were so extremely manipulative and controlling. No amount of reflection is going to make pb not a bad person. She had a redemption arc sure and went good by the end of the series, but they had literally multiple episodes revolving around how her creations and her previously mentioned manipulative personality caused a lot of really bad events similarly to Dr. gross. I definitely don't think pb is as bad as gross because pb has some more underlying issues while dr gross just does not care but pb is nowhere close to a good person for 90% of the series and they make a pretty big effort to show such

I would not call myself a true adventure time fan but I’ve seen enough episodes to believe that no matter how many times Bonnie tries to be a Good Samaritan, her insanity and evil desires come back to haunt her. By the time she’s in a relationship with Marcy, we notice that Bonnie is able to control herself and not let mad science destroy the princess she once was as leader of ooo’s candy kingdom.

Bonnie's idea of "protecting" her people was keeping them all in a infantile mental state where they literally couldn't do anything for themselves without her involvement, 2.) She practically attempted mass genocide in order to sabotage an "allied" kingdom's last line of defense, 3.) She imposes her ideals onto others regardless of how they may feel, 4.) and over all has been conducting experiments that more or less break the laws of man and nature just to see what would happen since season That's not even mentioning how much of a control freak she is. Monitoring literally every citizen, not just in the Candy Kingdom, but others as well with No respect for privacy. Tagging them all with trackers. Replacing her citizens with identical clones without remorse or guilt if they die. Dr. Gross was exactly the same and worse. She not only conditioned and modified the Seekers, but could literally control them like robots at the press of a button. ( I.E. Susan Strong) Her unlawful experiments led to the pandemic that claimed the lives of the Helpers, as you said. But PB did something similar that resulted in a zombie plague. Twice. And don't even get me started on her other "projects" . It's the High Evolutionary bid in a kid's show. The only real difference between Bonnie and Dr. Gross is that PB, at least, made actual attempts to be better after being forced out of her leadership position and forced to take a good hard look at herself and her behavior. Even if she did constantly backslide in one way or another. Where as Dr. Gross just flat out didn't care so long as she got to do what she wanted. *Phew*
