Herc, you didn’t mention the MOST important player that helped LAFC win the 2022 MLS Cup. Chicho Arango! Without Chicho, we don’t win MLS Cup. LAFC let him go and then Bouanga took over the goal scoring duties in 2023. Without Bouanga, LAFC has nobody to score goals and Vela has slowed down a lot from prior form. Pay the man!

Actually it was Gareth Bale who scored the final goal to send it to penalty kicks Philadelphia could have won it
@bensegal81348 ай бұрын
@@bluebird1954 Sorry if I wasn’t clear. What I meant was that we would never have made it to MLS cup in the first place without Chicho Arango. He was a true 9 and without him, all goal scoring went to Bouanga without enough contribution from others. If we had Chicho this past season, we would have won it all.

He's paid a lot more than almost all people with real jobs. He was in the 2nd division over there. One year that's good here doesn't provide anywhere near the value that a first division team would pay a real star and, at 29, he's no longer a prospect.
@realflashkid8 ай бұрын
If money is all you care about, go to the Saudi league. But trying to force your club to transfer you when you’re under contract for 2 more seasons makes no sense. Especially in January, why not just keep your mouth shut and ball out til the summer when more teams are likely to want to make a move.

He would be better off to stay in LA. He's a star there. He won't really be noticed in Europe.

Sell him to Celtic. He's not a Big Five league striker. And arguably, Celtic is a weaker club than LAFC. But they do play in Europe. They can participate in CL, and they need some help up front. Not certain whether Celtic would match his salary demands, but they can afford his transfer fee. And, if he's serious about playing for a name brand club in Europe, Celtic Park would be a decent place to go. Wishful thinking on my part. Celtic don't recruit MLS - although they should. @@davinalopez-oz1ezLAFC could compete. The Scottish premiership consists of two decent teams. Typical top heavy euro league.
@kentgrady92268 ай бұрын
@@davinalopez-oz1ez I'm a devoted Celtic fan and watch them regularly. While Celtic would probably do quite well against most MLS competition, I don't think they would dominate the league by any means. Stronger MLS clubs, like LAFC for example, would give the Bhoys all the problems they could handle. This is obviously a barstool debate - long on speculation and short on supporting data. The best we can do, absent of any head to head competition or common opponents, is look at the players at MLS clubs versus those at a club like Celtic (or Rangers, or FC Copenhagen, or Galatasaray, or whatever second tier European club you wish). How much are those players worth on the transfer market? How much are they paid? Where did they come from before they play at the clubs being compared? Where do they play when they transfer away? At what age do they transfer? European based players tend to command higher transfer fees than MLS players of similar quality. Yet, they MLS players are often better paid. Bouanga, well paid by MLS standards, but hardly the highest paid in the league, would be by the biggest wage earner at Celtic. Talent follows money. Ergo, it's reasonable to infer that Bouanga would hardly be out of his depth at Celtic - and in fact, would be accustomed to players of superior quality than he would face in Scotland. I wish I could say that Celtic were leaps and bounds ahead of MLS. As recently as 12-15 years ago, they could legitimately claim to be an elite European club (2 CL knockout round appearances, *and* defeated Barcelona when they were at their very best). The concentration of money and talent in the EPL and la Liga has changed the calculus. Until something drastic happens, MLS will gain ground on, and surpass, all European clubs and leagues save the very top of the UEFA elite. That is inevitable.
