Another tough job well done. Good trick with the stainless wire to ID the short grates. Thank you for the honest comments on the AC/140 using stick. One out of two ain't bad, and it's good for FC on thick metal. No BS from the NBS welder! That's why we viewers trust your comments. 😊😊

Seems to me coping pipe will be more difficult to get the overall dimension of what you want. I know if I was doing it. I would’ve messed it up but like always CB you to man.
@timothyhartley7986Ай бұрын
Meant to say you the man

Do a test with scrap and see how much you need to compensate for length when you cope the pipe

Is welding stainless material with stainless wire better or stronger than using regular flux core wire
@NBSWELDINGАй бұрын
You can weld stainless with regular wire for carbon steel but if you do the weld will rust and the weld metal won't be as hard because mild steel is not as hard as stainless I dunno what to say about strength or if one is stronger than the other...stainless is more brittle than carbon steel so if you use carbon steel weld metal then the weld should be more flexible but less hard...so witch is stronger I dunno...depends on what ya mean by strong...do you need it to be hard, flexible, corrosion resistant?...all those things would be different between the two
@michaelbigelow367Ай бұрын
I really look forward to seeking you fabricate and weld so I enjoyed this one. Can I ask you the wall thickness of that pipe? And I would think you used your 252 with the .035 wire? Im looking forward to the stainless work coming up too. Thanks CB!
@NBSWELDINGАй бұрын
.250 wall pipe...yes I used the older 252 with .035" solid wire in it...I keep .030" wire in my other 252 for lighter stuff

Great project again. Thanks for posting it. It looked like you didn't use the flat bar on the edges of the bar grating this time. Just wondering why if that's the case. Thanks!
@NBSWELDINGАй бұрын
Your correct...good eye...we decided not to band these with flatbar on the edge because in this case the free flow of water into the drain is much more important than the strength that could be provided by banding them. These will not be walked on or driven on where they are
@JonesMetalCraftАй бұрын
