My brother,glad to meet another devotee of Ustad Rashid Khan saheb Of Rampur gharana.As you like this divine sadness of raag puriya Dhanashree,I also humbly request you to listen haunting sadness of raag Marwa by Ustad Rashid Khan Saheb and his students Pandit Nagesh Adgaonkar and Chote Ustad Armaan Khan.Nawabs of Rampur were patrons of classical music by Rampur gharana.as well as breeders of Rampur hound dogs.But then we must remember Nawab Wajid Ali of Awadh who loved music more than kingdom and his favourite raag was Madhuwanti. As I listen to song rasme ulfat to nibhaye by Lata Mangeshkar,I imagine scene of deserted soldiers,English company army surrounding the palace and Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and his queens and his musicians in the Palace,.Sorry to bother you with long address.
